Profile

Cotchin was a popular selection at the start of season as coaches bet on him rebounding from a poor 2013. He did improve his average by 6 points but still only managed to be the 25th highest averaging midfielder for the year. Taggers continued to work him over with Macaffer (70) and Hutchings (54) having the biggest impact on his scoring. On the plus side when Trent was good he was very good with nine scores over 110, six of which came in the back end of the season. He's still relatively young and there's certainly scope to push his average back up to 2012 levels but I'm inclined to look at him more as an upgrade target at this point.

Pros - Has barely missed a game in the last four years, good kick/handball ratio, goalkicker

Cons - Opposition attention

Prediction - 99-104

Sweetness

He is one of the players I want to burst into the ultra-premo bracket.
He can get totally shut out/trodden all over by a tagger though.

Will probably pass.

+1

I probably would have considered him if Robo was Richmond bound, I feel he could use some more support from some big bodied team mates like Tuck when he strung together 22 games in 2012

would start Miles over Cotchin

I know you're joking, about having either of them
but do you not feel that Miles would now be higher on the tagging list?

might distract from Cotchin a bit

No

Miles is a inside player teams will always tag Cotchin first if you let him loose he would be much more damaging then Miles

And I wasn't joking if I had to choose one to start would be Miles

Have been saying this for a while now, Richmond need someone in the middle besides Maric that can throw their body around at taggers to help Cotch out.

No way would Miles be tagged over Cotchin, he's purely an inside mid so tagging him wouldn't be all that effective. Until we get that bigger bodied mid ^ Cotch will have to rely on Deledio, Ellis, Martin to keep developing to take some attention off of him.

Mr.Craig

It's scary to think about what he'd average if he didn't get attention.
