Profile

The Pig finally went out to slaughter in 2014. Over the course of the last two years his average has dropped 40 points and at 30 going on 31 years of age there doesn't look like any turning back. Across the board his stats were the lowest they had been in almost a decade. He's carrying weight, getting niggles, being used more and more up forward and his scoring continues to dip. Post-bye Dane's average was just 86.4 and a lot of his tons for the season were shallow (5 scores between 100-105). The only real hope would be the chance off M/F DPP which seems pretty unlikely but not impossible. Even then you'd have to think long and hard about picking him. As a pure mid there's dozens of players ahead of him that are capable of increasing in value or maintaining an acceptable average so I see no reason to pick him next year.

Pros - Former pig

Cons - Former pig

Prediction - 90-95

Was just about to start a write up on him ::)
I'm considering him...with Beams and Ball gone he should be needed in the midfield as Greenwood/Crisp simply aren't on the same level as Pendles/Beams.... If he's chucked forward again Collingwood will have a very weak midfield, Pendles, Sidey, Greenwood, then?
Main cons is that the sub rule has effected him as feared and I feel he resents Bucks to an extent which results in his lack of drive/fitness IMO another on the watchlist :o

To me, he's still the pig and I can't consider Rocky by the same name, think he will get back to 100+, plus he will be around 20-30k underpriced due to his injury in the final game

Sweetness

Interesting prospect. Two trains of thought.

- He is past it as MC suggests and we need to let go and pick the new breed of premos.

or

- We are looking at someone who averaged 130 and getting him at a bargain 93avg price.

Having said that, I'll prob only consider as a FWD, if he gets it.

pommyadam

as you've kinda of alluded to here, his ability to pig out is dwindling

he's still got the ability to ton up, but he doesn't really go on with them (okay, that 145 aside)
8/17 tons and only 3 of them over 110 proves my point here

Ricochet

Reckon we'll see a huge lift from Swan next year.
Firstly because he played a lot of this year injured which severely limited his running pwer
and secondly because he has public come out and said he owes the club to bounce back.

He'll be doing everything he can to have a big preseason and right.

If he gets through that preseason with no hiccups I'll be all over him

Holz

For SC im probably picking him for DT he is the biggest lock for me.

IM old school but I cant lose my faith in the greatest DTer ever after one injury plagued season. Worse case im thinking 100 and he only costs 94.

Lock and Load.

Jukes

Literally the worst footballer of all time. But get him for the lols.

Wouldn't be surprised if Greenwood, Seedsman, Joshy Thomas, Tay Adams etc make him their dog.

Bill Manspeaker

well, wouldn't say 'literally the worst footballer of all time' Jukesy :P

that is a nice picture though Craigy. spot on

Ricochet

yeh the man did win a Brownlow...

Bill Manspeaker

Swan's disposal isn't even that bad Jukesy. sure he can fluff a kick every now and again but there are a lot of players who do that. he can alao kick really nice goals from difficult positions. I reckon his disposal is above average

Jukes

Swan DE 63% - 582nd in league from 661
Priddis 65
Ablett 69
Stants 73
Selwood 76
Watson 76

At least he's got being a nice guy running for him, met him once and he's a good bloke

yeah but that's implying that every single kick is the exact same for every person. like exact scenario sorta thing if you get what I mean. that's why I think stats can lie in some cases

I honestly think Dane's not a bad kick

Probably a no from me for Swanny, too many younger kids to jump on.

One thing to remember with Swanny is the wrist surgery he had. I don't think he can bend his wrists which seemed to make his hands a bit hard/stiff rather than soft on the ball. Also noticed how slow he was getting back to his feet after going to ground. Possibly due to that lack of wrist movement to push himself off the ground. Would be hard to tackle properly too.
Love the guy and hope he gets back to his best, but will have to see how he's moving in preseason.

Vinny

I love Swanny and it would be awesome to see him go back to pig status. Not just for fantasy but I miss watching it!
