While I completely disagree that high pressure defence is boring, a lot need attacking footy to consider it exciting.

The fact is we have changed. In 2014 we were the most attacking side in the comp. We were ranked first in hitting the corridor, ranked 2nd behind hawks for inside 50s resulting in a goal and averaged 3rd most points scored against top 8 sides

No-one can say we're boring to watch anymore. We bring that high pressure defence PLUS attack on goal that everyone craves

Don't worry about it Ric these stereotypes die off soon. Sydney went from being called the "Ugly Ducklings" to being a part of the two greatest Grand Finals in modern era (05,06)

Yeah 2006 was fantastic. I was also quite a fan of 2002.

The 2011 and 2012 games were pretty decent as well

Curious as to why you think that?

I thought both were pretty much the same level. 2005 obviously gets talked about a lot more due to the 72 year streak and the Leo Barry mark but I would hardly call it overrated

DON'T flowerING GO THERE. We should've had 99-00-01 trilogy :'(

But if we're including games we didn't see live, I always love watching 84. Amazing comeback (23 down at 3/4 time to win by 24) and lots of great players on display for both sides. 85 wasn't that bad too, little one sided though :3 the brawl is good haha

The thing is that 05 gets put on a pedestal because of that mark and the drought being broken. You had a quarter of football where one team scored 3 points and the very next quarter the other team scored 2. I think the game in 06 was of a much better quality. I can barely sit through the 05 game if I go to watch it now. I also struggled on the day.
