Profile
Elliot made his way over back west to return home and became a starting defender for the WCE in season 2014. He was a lock down small defender that showed hunger for the contest and great dash on the rebound. Adam Simpson took note of his athletic gifts and shifted Yeo down the front half of the field and on ball to use them to his advantage. This started a shift in Yeo's scoring ability since now his role was to go and get the ball. From rounds 8-12 before his hand injury in round 13 against Gold Coast he averaged 85.25. Most significantly he scored a tonne against Hawthorn where in this game he played most of his minutes on ball.

Pros - OOP Defender, great size and athleticism

Cons - not a proven accumulator or midfielder

Verdict
Yeo is likely to be working on his midfield and clearance work coming over this preseason, so keep an eye on him because if he is listed as a DPP in the backline he could possibly be a midprice diamond like Dave Swallow in season 2014.

Prediction - 75-80

Yeah definitely worth considering if gets back status, plenty of upside in him and I too see him pushing a 80 average.

why would he not be a def?

didn't read the writeup, thought he was more of a Hodge-type player personally

His last handful of games was in the midfield and up forward. So it wouldn't be a shock if he isn't a defender, what he does have going for him is that he started the season in defense and the hand injury came at the right time before he was about to break into a full time midfield role

Dayze

Yeo should keep his defender status and start at the centre bounce round one.
Eagles have been crying out for a younger, big bodied on baller.
Watched every game last year and he is an exciting mid priced prospect. Very much on the watch list

Yeo is the go home boy who hurt us the most imo, even though the trade was pretty much Yeo for Lewis Taylor. I think he could get some fairly decent numbers, but will have the odd shocker from time to time.

This keeps me interested.

An update of Yeo in the new year is that he is still in his recovery program for his broken hand. Whilst this isn't encouraging still keep a watchful eye over his progress leading up to NAB games.
