Why does everyone have Collingwood so low?

From 2014...

Out: Ball, Beams, Lumumba... Maxwell
In: Greenwood, Crisp, Varcoe... Reid, Brown, Freeman

Players who might drop off due to age: Swan (doubt it)
Players who should improve due to natural improvement: Langdon, Thomas, Adams, Frost, Witts, Grundy, Broomhead, Williams

Because they were crap this year, and they will be crap again next year.,..

Greenwood has played one good year. So no certainty he can back it  up.
Varcoe hasn't played more then 3 good games in 3 years.
Crisp hasn't proven shower...

And lost your 2nd and 4th(ish) best midfielder. And 2 half decent defenders.

I dare say they won't be setting anything on fire.

They have been on a downward spiral for a while..... They won't improve any time soon..

Especially with bucks at the helm.

Agreed, it'll take them a few years to be main contenders. Grundy and Witts need to step up so much.
I just hope Bucks doesn't drag Harvey down with him  :'(

I'm sure the Saints will lure Harvs back by then.. and teach them to run all day and rack up the ball!

To be fair on Varcoe he has played a number of good games for Hawthorn.

Time will tell. Think a few are writing them off as having no hope though, forgetting that they had a lot of players out last year and playing injured

Yeah a lot of average players.. Pendlebury is Collingwood. Hope hes working on his shoulders in the off season. Because its going to be a big load!

Disagree. I think if they can keep their important players healthy they will be around the mark.
An injury free Swan and Reid will make a huge difference

Mate... Swan is on the wrong side of 30 and has lost interest. He wont make any difference to last year. Reid maybe. But will not make the 8.. Not a chance in the world...

I agree mate. Swan and Reid make a huge difference. Still not sure where they'll finish up but they'll still be pushing for finals

Swan is still a gun and when fit will make a huge difference.
Reid and Nathan Brown return to their defence which is massive.
How many games do you think they will win?

Mailman the 2nd

imo both Reid and Brown will take half the season to get going into real form because they've missed so much football.

Swan is just a massive wildcard.

Reid played at the end of the season though and will get a full pre season.
Brown may take a little longer to get going but they have a pretty good start to the season so will get wins on the board either way.

Not expecting Swan to set the world on fire but his output will be much better than this year and he's a star weather he plays mid or forward.

I just don't think there is gonna be this massive drop off that a lot of people expect. They will be there abouts IMO
