Mailman the 2nd

I'm with Jukes, I reckon there's a solid chance the Eagles go bottom 4 if they get any even slightly significant other injuries.

Not to mention Schofield and Brown are coming in to round 1 under dubious fitness, Selwood is coming off ankle surgery, Hutchinson is gone for more than a month and Ellis is Ellis.

No idea who Hutchinson is,definitely not on the Eagles list.
No way we finish bottom 4

Hutchings, basically the same  :P

I can only see 3 teams who against WC I would back the Eagles 100% of the time (Melbourne, WB and Saints). Otherwise I'd be less than certain

Jukes

Yeah I have them above those three and just about on par with the blues, pies and gws (and maybe even Adelaide).

Waters, Glass and Cox is just a huge loss of experience and leadership and I don't think their current group have nearly enough of that. Will be a year for building and development, and maybe even tanking to get better picks :P

Eagles finished 13th and 9th the last two seasons, and for this season they won't have Mackenzie, Glass, Cox, and will be missing Darling for the first chunk, and haven't brought in anybody who will make an immediate impact.

11th would be considered a huge win for them this season I reckon.

Have been riddled with injuries over the last 2 years... 11th won't be a win. Can guarantee won't be below 11th unless 5 guys go down. . Better side than the bombers, does that mean we finish 5th above them?

Bottom 4.... ha. Love the hate for Eagles. Success will always be hated i spose. Will come back to this thread later on in the year. Miles ahead of Carlton Collingwood and Brisbane. Stkilda Melbourne and bulldogs. Puts us 12th at worst. Still think we will finish higher than gws. Potentially Adelaide and Essendon too.

Yeah nah.

A very slim chance of you going bottom four, as I see you guys being heaps better than Melbourne, St Kilda, Carlton and the doggies, and you may be marginally better than GWS and Collingwood at best. However I don't think you're ahead of Essendon. (Maybe equal) or Adelaide. I think you're about on par with Brisbane.

Can see you guys finishing between 9th and 13th.

Mr.Craig

I think their window is 7-11th.

Mailman the 2nd

Brisbane are stacked with guys like Aish and Taylor to go with who have a ton of improvement in them from playing pretty much every game they can. The two A grade recruits help as well.

Collingwood are still better, they got better recruits and rookies as well.

Carlton suck, they're your best bet of finishing above the bottom 4 imo

Mr.Craig

Carlton could potentially find a way to finish 19th.

Yeah can't argue with that. Haven't set my hopes high this year that for sure. Unlike many other supporters of certain teams who talk there team up and pump their tyres. Not mentioning any teams / names...

I actually posted a ladder prediction in the first page of this thread (back in October last year) where I had the Eagles in 8th. My opinion changed on just the amount of key position departures, injuries and stunted pre seasons that I saw in the news between then and now.

I see a huge experience hole, the only new arrivals are 1st year young guys and Kane Lucas.

Teams like Melbourne, GWS and Brisbane have tightened up a lot more in the offseason. West Coast had a major percentage boost completely flattening the weaker teams in 2014.

I see them as very similar in talent and performance consistency as the Crows, but with a much worse offseason.

11. Brisbane

All weve lost is an injured Mckenzie really. Glass was only taking the 3rd key forward in his final season as hes body just couldnt go with him any more. Cox was in a similar boat... He probably could of gone another season, but nata now goes to number 1 with Lycett and more than decent number 2 ruck. Beau waters never played anyway.. no so loss there.

Last season numerous players missed big chunks of 5-6 weeks of the season at a time. Our draw is reasonably good as it was last year. I still see us beating those same sides again..

Similar ladder positioning to the crows definitely.

But bottom 4 is laughable!

Wow what an original insult calling a 22 year old kid playing in a premiership level side medicore.

Richard Hadley was a superstar, right? A premiership in just his 4th game, at the age of 19 means he must be a special player. Maybe you would have won the flag if Sam Reid was any good.

Quote from: Mailman the 2nd on October 30, 2014, 05:17:36 PM
They have a lack of Forward options as well. Elliot will be stronger no doubt, Cloke is always volatile there's no point banking on him, Jesse White just turned into Lynch 2.0.

Grundy and Witts still have a lot of polishing to do.

You know who would be a good forward option? Ben Reid!

Yes, Richard Hadley was a very good player for his age, suffering from crippling chronic pelvic and abdominal injuries which is why he played in a side that had already won back to back flags.

You know who else is a young player who is suffering constant injury? Ben Reid!
On point throughout this whole argument mailman!

I had a crack in the other thread -
Hawthorn
Sydney
Port
Freo
Norf
Essendon
Geelong
GC

Richmond
Brisbane
Adelaide
GWS
West Coast
Collingwood
Demons
Carlton
Bullies
Saints

6th - 13th is a minefield.
