The decorated career of the AFLs oldest player is set to continue after Dustin Fletcher agreed to a new one-year contract.

The beloved defender will play on in 2015 for a record-breaking 23rd season after agreeing to terms with Essendon this morning.

Congrats to Fletch on getting this far, but he's way past it.
He shouldn't be best 22, but will keep on getting games due to reputation.

just go back to the bulldogs game in round 10 or so his composure is what won us the game
and just look at what happened to us in the north final Brown got loose....is fletch was playing he would of either
A: third man up killed it or
B: would be following petrie so hooker would of killed it


and still a better player then some of the crap those is on a lot of afl lists imo

I agree he is not passed it and still best 22 he controls the back line which you don't see on tv we are much better with him in the team

I love Fletch and still a solid defender for us. Doesn't have to take top forwards each week so goes alright :P.

Such a shame for Pears though, unless Pears turns into a forward, another year sitting out most matches :P.

Yeah doesn't really take anyone, so I reckon you guys would be better with someone who's younger and can actually move  :P and rebound better.
