I love Fletch and still a solid defender for us. Doesn't have to take top forwards each week so goes alright :P.

Such a shame for Pears though, unless Pears turns into a forward, another year sitting out most matches :P.
Yeah doesn't really take anyone, so I reckon you guys would be better with someone who's younger and can actually move  :P and rebound better.

better then about 6 best 22 to 25 tiges at least

No way, Shaun Hampson is better  :P

Seriously though, Fletch is decent but he's seriously overrated by your supporters.

Hellopplz

He isn't as good as he use to be which comes with age. He's still a solid AFL player because he doesn't have to play on the younger more stronger guys, but his instincts are still there. Certainly not one of our best players on a weekly basis :P.

He's still definitely best 22. He's not in the top 5 at the club as he was a decade ago, but he's still firmly in the 10-22 range. He did struggle with form and injury in the back half of the year, but his front half of the year surpassed his output from the last half decade. Our alternatives as the third tall are Steinberg and Pears, Fletcher is better than both and it is unfair to say he's denying them opportunities as neither have really shown that they are AFL standard.

As for rebounding better, he had 20+ disposals in 6/15 games this season, and ranked in the top 20 of the league for 1%ers (19th), marks (9th), and rebound 50's (15th).

Talk that he is past it is only because he had a bad month and then got injured, and is miles off the mark.

As for being overrated, Fletcher, Bartlett, Tuck and Harvey are all extremely overrated due to the longevity of their careers.

Onya Fletch do it for us old boys.  ;)

The decorated career of the AFLs oldest player is set to continue after Dustin Fletcher agreed to a new one-year contract.

The beloved defender will play on in 2015 for a record-breaking 23rd season after agreeing to terms with Essendon this morning.
So will they be upgrading the facilties to incude ramps to help him get out to the field?

On ya Fletch
