Another all Australian year coming up for the champ ;)

Surely Petterd gets a run ahead of all those guys on the bench?!

Surprised he didn't even get a mention actually. He's definitely in the mix

shower, totally didn't even notice.

In that case, Petterd and Gordon in for Lennon and Grigg.

Toga

Gordon's definitely thereabouts, can play as a smaller third tall option with his lead-up marking ability or as a winger with his running ability. Should be in the team.

Can't wait to see Chris Knights back in action, was playing so well when he was injured, can play HFF, pocket and mid.
I think he's ahead of guys like Gordon, Lloyd and Lennon and offers a bit more than them except maybe Lennon but he's still developing.
I don't know if he's likely round 1 but should be important to us this season if he stays fit.

Fully fit Knights easily makes tigers 22, he's a gun

A gun? What has he done in the past 5 years other than get injured?

You can be a gun and get injured Mate, doesn't change what a player is capable if fit. He's the sort of player who can get the Tigers above just scraping in the 8. Has the X-Factor.

Sounds like Stevie Morris will be filling the small forward role this year, playing that Jake King role.

Hardwick reaffirmed that defender Steven Morris, acting captain against the Dogs, would be used in a Jake King-style role up forward this season.

“He has been playing that role in our intra-club (matches). He had two shots on goal today when the ball wasn’t inside the forward 50 much. He makes the most of his opportunities and he puts enormous pressure on as well, so we’ll persevere with that one,” the coach said.

“I thought we missed Jake last year in that role, that pressure-type forward and intimidating force up there. He puts enormous pressure on and makes players around him better.

“He (Morris) played forward as a TAC (Cup) player, so he’s going back to the future in a way. And he’ll get better.”

I don't like the sound of that.

In other news, Dimma has challenged Lambert, Elton and McBean to push for a round one spot.

Nige

Look, I'd honestly much rather him play as a defender, but it could work. I think he played quite well on the weekend.

As for Lambert, Elton and McBean pushing for a spot. Based on the game vs the Dogs, Lambert has to be close.

I'm not a big Elton fan, I don't see where he fits in to be honest, but he wasn't bad against the Dogs, still hasn't won me over yet.

McBean wasn't great, but I expect him to have a better crack at it in our next games.

I though Elton was really good on the weekend. He won't be playing round 1 with Rance, Chappy and Astbury back in the side though but it's good to see he looks comfortable down back and ready to step into the side if we needed him.
Morris as a forward could work! The way Vlastuin went in the Backline on the weekend was actually very Morris like so I could see a bit of a role change there.
McBean still looked a mile off to me. I know he's put on weight but he honestly still looks like a rake and no where near ready for AFL

Spots are getting tight! 15 best 22 players missing on the weekend and there were plenty that put their hand up

Nige

I actually thought all of the rookie listed lads had their moments too, which was really good to see.

However Menadue, Drummond, Butler and McKenzie did nothing inspiring.

Vlastuin was terrific, he's the next captain of our football club and I'm very excited for when that happens.
