Unless some bad news concerning his shoulder comes to light i reckon i'll be starting him as per usual. :)

wait... didn't we say the same about Swan and his wrist (in that match fitness wouldn't be an issue)?

and given that he's still an important part of GCs side (as the back end of the season showed) then I think they'll be going down the conservative route
and then a new coach, he might get a lesser role (with the likes of JOM and Prestia settping up)

down onto the "upgrade" list, rather than a set starter

Swan had a hip injury that limited his output this year

GARY Ablett has made an early return to Suns pre-season training.

The club expected Ablett to return on Monday along with the senior players however the skipper joined his first to fourth-year teammates today in a positive sign his recovery from a shoulder reconstruction is running to schedule.

The 30-year-old ran strongly in a series of shuttle runs and looked eager to get his hands on the football after missing the final seven matches of the season after dislocating his left shoulder against Collingwood in July.

He showed his kicking touch hasn't deserted him despite the long lay-off but overhead work is still a way off for the two-time Brownlow medallist.

Football Operations GM Marcus Ashcroft said it was a real lift for the players to have their skipper back early.

"For him to want to come back and join in and be around his teammates is a real positive," Ashcroft said.

Good news, operation get Gazza on track for 2015. Even if all goes perfectly through the pre season we'll only really know when a game comes around with some full contact as to how the shoulder has healed up. We have a long wait.

Every year the get Ablett thread starts up and the only ones that look silly are the ones who don't pick him , if he's playing round 1 first picked  ;)

Yep. I swear there's  thread every year saying "GAJ to play up fwd more, next year".

One year he is bound to slow down, though. Not sure it will be in 2015, though  ;)

The little master is a must have in any form of the game, start with him and if he stinks it up then you can get rid of him after the 3rd round and get that form player you missed.

I will be contrary and not just for the heck of it ... prob won't start with him in AF ... SC (barring any pre-season hiccups), now that's a different story ...  ;)

AF is a little trickier due to only two games and his price drops so it does give you pause to think if he stinks it up rnd 1 when you could well need that trade to fix something else, sideways a rookie etc. SC he's pretty much locked for me, not starting with him would be like rolling up to a public beach with no bathers on. He's been the first picked for me for so long in SC .

Dudge did mention that you wanted to stop @ Maslins on the way down to Victor for the catch up. As for Ablett, tough decision even if he stinks it you have to fibd the cash to get him in.

Haha playing that card again was he, i assure you if anyone would want to stop there out of us two it would be him, he frequented those sandy shores a few times in his younger not so wrinkly days lol.
