Aussies won by one run! I fell asleep at 3-90 odd. here's the last over for those who missed it as well.

Two to get for Pakistan. Two to get for Australia. Here's Maxwell, right-arm around
49.1
Maxwell to Sohail Tanvir, no run, looks for the big slog sweep from outside off, misses, is hit on the midriff

49.2
Maxwell to Sohail Tanvir, OUT, oh, my. What have you done, Sohail Tanvir? Maxwell fired that in flat and full, and Tanvir swung across the line again. Tanvir missed, Maxwell hit

Sohail Tanvir b Maxwell 10 (27m 15b 0x4 1x6) SR: 66.66

Mohammad Irfan walks in, with two runs required from four balls

49.3
Maxwell to Mohammad Irfan, no run, length ball angled across, and Irfan leans forward, threatening to fall over, and blocks

49.4
Maxwell to Mohammad Irfan, no run, goes for the big slog and misses, but this was bowled wide outside off so he survives

49.5
Maxwell to Mohammad Irfan, no run, tosses it up outside off once again, and Irfan swings and misses once again

Two balls, two runs... Two to win, one to tie, but can Irfan connect?

49.6
Maxwell to Mohammad Irfan, OUT, Maxwell has won it for Australia! That was on the stumps and Irfan swung hard at it. The ball took his outside edge and looped in the air and the man at cover took a simple catch

Mohammad Irfan c Faulkner b Maxwell 0 (5m 4b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

flower only just remembered this.

did anyone see Smiddy's catch? I've never seen anything like that before (nothing comes to mind anyway)

wasn't sure if it was legal but apparently it is

It is legal, as his movements were influenced by the movements of the batsman, or something like that. Basically, if the batsman moves to anticipate/play a shot, the fielders can also move like Smiddy did.

Maxyyyyyyyy  :-*

it wasn't just that last over either. took a nice catch for the 8th wicket, ran a guy out that wasn't counted (threw it to Faulks, but Faulks missed the stumps first attempt and got them on the second but no one appealed so the umps didn't go to the 3rd umpire) and that would've been the 9th wicket. then bowls a double wicket maiden for the win!

I would only have a problem with it if Smith was in front of the batsman. But since he was behind and not in the vision of the batsman it is fine

Jay

I'd feel a little bit more sorry for the batsman if he didn't have such a flowered up stance :P

But insanely clever by Smiddy.
