You guys have such short memory:

Just a couple of years ago Davie Warner was well known as always throwing away his wicket in Tests and doubted at the top level.
I said this as well, but apparently that doesn't matter.  ::)
Shouldn't make decisions based on the exception to the rule. He can refine his game, but the Australian test team is not the place to be learning how to play cricket.
But the experience on the big stage is invaluable and doesn't compete with first class cricket where Maxi has done so well.
Being thrown into the deep end has clearly not helped him, he could not have played worse yesterday.
Would hardly call a game against Pakistan 'in the deep end'. If this was the deciding test in a series with South Africa or England I could understand, but I don't think there was much to lose in a game where Pakistan came out and made 570 in their first innings.

I beg to differ, could have gone for a duck but contributed 37, only beaten by Clarke with 47 and Marsh with 87. Not to mention the three who batted before him barely combined for as much he made.

I'm as disappointed as everyone in the performance of the team, the Pakistanis have been much better than us this series. Just not happy people are choosing to pick on Maxi and make him a scapegoat.
Those before him made errors in execution, Maxwell's entire innings showed he currently lacks the temperament to be an international test player.

Flat track bully will never be a test player get over it.

100% agree with this, as have said myself, is not a test player and should not play another test for a long time. He can go out and score the fastest ever 100 now and that would be great, but still wouldn't change my opinion.

I reckon Pakistan have batted too long here. I would have really tried to up the scoring in the first session like Misbah did, they seemed to coast around a bit aimlessly scoring at 3.5 an over which didn't really achieve anything. I would have declared with the lead around 500 40 mins before lunch, to give the openers a tricky few overs. But meh. Judging our quality of batting so far 130 overs or whatever it is they have should be plenty to get us out. Really hope we show some fight though. Having said that, I do have money on Pakistan to win @ $3.60  :P

Azhar gets his hundred now and the declaration has come

603 to win. piece of cake
The RRR would be 4+ to get it right? Might have to accept a draw. :P
Warner to break the record. 41 balls it will take him. he'll go on to score 304

Maxwell to then break the record. 17 balls it'll take him.  goes out next ball

Clarke to hit the winning runs to bring up his century

win with a session to play

put 50c on it :P

Wishful thinking to say the least lol.

What the hell, Babar comes on, Warner switch hits him first ball. What the hell lol. Understand the logic of putting him under pressure straight away, like they did with Lyon, but wasn't expecting that. Davey know's what he's doing lol, I'll back him in

Rogers dropped, need a few more of them...

Totally made the most of that opportunity. His last test? Quite possibly.

Bill Manspeaker

think we'll keep him till the Ashes next year, might be his last series

Hopefully, I like him, but has been under pressure and hasn't done much this series. His age only counts against him too.

Bill Manspeaker
