what crowd?

seriously though, it's a really bad look for the game when there's like 50 people there  :o

That's my point. The only people there are the players, coaches, camera crew and umpires.

Random yet obvious observation.

Australia's best players in recent years have been guys that have been completely written off

A couple that spring to mind

Johnson - After the dominant early years he struggled and the media officially declared him dead, dude is on fire
Watson - Injuries killed his career then he comes out and dominates in the IPL before winning the Allan Border medal not long after
Katich - dude was in the abyss then came back to be a solid opener for a sustained period of time
Haddin - Calls for retirement and then he dominated the Ashes
Hussey- calls for before his retirement for him to be gone so a young guy could come through, then on the retirement tour he dominates and people cry he shouldn't retire

Cam White in the short form. He was horrible even at domestic level for a while and he came out and destroyed it last year.

YES I AM BORED!

Bill Manspeaker

that's some nice work Mat  :o

could be good signs for Hughesy as well? I guess he hasn't been written off though. almost certain to make it back in the team at some stage

Bill Manspeaker

another edge that didn't carry  ::)

Well that was the guy I was thinking of. They were talking about Johnson on the coverage and how he had been in a massive purple patch when I thought about how people had written him off. Then it popped in my head about the other guys. Throw Warner in in terms of test Cricket, before last summer the media and crap were calling for him to only play the short form. He also turned it around. Cricket is such a fickle sport, but it is one sport that you can play until you are 40 unlike AFL (although Fletcher is trying to debunk that theory). Just because someone is down on form in their mid 20's it doesn't mean they can't turn it around when they get towards 30. Honestly, I think guys can be in their prime around 30-34.

yep, great post. even for guys who don't make their debuts till later in their career, a la Michael Hussey or even Brad Hodge (even though he didn't really get a fair run of it). just proves your point
