Masten would go long before Rosa, he is one of our best players when fit

Phasir

I don't think Rosa will be seen as part of our future though, he's top lad, but Masten is seen as a Mid/HFF which is the flexibility that Simpson wants.  Rosa's a winger & that seems to be it.
No comment on Waters in the pocket?  :-X

I'll chuck one up after trading/drafting is complete 8)

LF

I personally think Shepp fits in somewhere as well.
Will try to do a team after the trade period etc

Living over in the east have heard very little about Waters how is he going , can he get back to his best ?

Comment: The Eagles never had a fully fit squad to choose from last season so Adam Simpson never got the chance to reveal his first choice 22. The queries with this line up surround Beau Waters fitness and structural match ups for their starting opponents, the Western Bulldogs. Waters will likely be declared fit but he has not played for 18 months and he is still yet to do full contact training he could potentially slot into defence should he string some games together in the pre-season. Jamie Bennell and Brad Sheppard are also fighting for roles as small defenders but Sam Butlers finish to last season probably has him in the team. Mark Hutchings could mount a strong case for a role in the midfield rotation or as the sub. It would take an extraordinary performance in the pre season for any of the first or second-year players to break into the Eagles line-up. - Alex Malcolm

I think Hutch gets in before Welligham and Bennell surely has a spot as well

The_Captain

Bennell Hutchings and Sheed all stiff. But id say they would be the emergencies.

Then blokes like Duggan and maybe Lamb to play once we have 4 or 5 injuries.

Herald Suns take on our best 22

WEST COAST
B: Jeremy McGovern, Eric Mackenzie, Beau Waters

HB: Elliot Yeo, Mitch Brown, Shannon Hurn

C: Andrew Gaff, Scott Selwood, Chris Masten

HF: Mark LeCras, Jack Darling, Sharrod Wellingham

F: Jamie Cripps, Josh Kennedy, Scott Lycett

FOLL: Nic Naitanui, Matt Priddis, Luke Shuey

I/C: Sam Butler, Will Schofield, Xavier Ellis, Matt Rosa

Not picked: Patrick McGinnity, Jamie Bennell, Dom Sheed, Callum Sinclair

No new faces after a quiet trade period. Adam Simpson will be praying Waters, Selwood, Darling and Wellingham are fit for Round 1.

No complaints there. WOuld have rosa on wing before gaff but. Can see Sheed edging out a Butler/Schofield type if he hits his potential this year. Dont think they would go with that side as you have 3 backs on bench... I know those blokes are flexible.. But you would love another pure mid rotation at least..
