As I have now become awhere to go look at the recyled draft Mitchell went after Buddy while I had 2 picks before that

Bit irrelevant, I'm just an amazing drafter ;) Titch was a steal imo

I am just surprised at how much I almost overpaid for buddy  :o

I don't think the trade we were going to do was going to pass. I was getting way to much

There's Nuthin wrong with the trade as KB said your overrating Clark a guy who hasn't played in 2 yrs mate!! So ya welcome to put your opinion in on trades I'm actually glad you did unlike other coaches but don't sit there and say your being a saint trying to stop me from ripping ppl off or some shower when that clearly isn't what happend!!


And if you wanted to pay 19 & 22 or wateva it was for caddy then ya should got ya ass into gear and made it happen then mate no point tellin someone when the trade period is over lol

I didn't realise Caddy was on the table otherwise I would or that a team looking to improve would trade him out when he's only just coming in to his peak. This catches me out a bit - I need to start taking the approach that I can target anyone at any club I think.

I'd also recommend shopping players around a bit more.

I'd be willing to bet that at the end of this we'll look back at this one and see what a shocker it was (none of the draftees will have played by then and Caddy and Clark, with no e, will have looked good/impressed).

I'll stand by my opinion that the trade is a rort but others are welcome to their opinions.

PS - Not sure how the Tom Mitchell for Franklin deal can pass either based on what we've seen from the two so far (Top 6 forward vs Fringe 22 player).

Fringe 22? He was struggling with recurring ankle injuries all season. If he had a full pre-season and was injury free he would've been in their 22. Just look what he did in r23 when given the chance.

That's it Memph you won't know till you ask in most teams everyone is available for the right price except maybe a couple is what I've found

But What I find funny with this trade and your reasonings is you think 19 & 22 is fair enough for you to get Caddy but 24 & 26 from me is a Rort lol plus I'm giving what's left from Tippet & Silvagni cause let's be honest you wouldn't take either of them with 18, and they wouldn't even be in this trade if it didn't have to be one for one as there basically worthless and will be like my 10th back reserves unless massive improvement is found and Clark is worth 31 no doubts about it so your basically thinking this trade is a Rort from a couple of picks being 4 or 5 apart lol. Howz about you read WXVs discussion thread some guys actually know what Draft picks this year are worth in there one coach was basically labeled a genius for trading in all the picks from 16-25  ;)

And I just realised Silvagni is 27 and only ave 48 this yr (yes I didn't even look before cause new he was a spud)  & played a whooping 7 games woohoo and when I add Nat 31 for him your previous comments said It didn't improve the trade much.... I rest my case if you think Silvagni is worth any Nat pick let alone 31 lol

Dude I am a co-coach in WXV and I know plenty about the draft. The top 30 or so look good and the Top 7 or so are really good but it doesn't change the fact that draftees won't be getting many early games for an AFL club.

Only 10 players outside the Top 10 from last year played more than 10 games for their club this year and 22 guys didn't play a single game. A lot of those guys probably won't either - drafting has a big element of risk.

I don't think Nat 19 + 22 is fair for Caddy either - it was just to highlight the fact that he could have got a better deal for him.

Sorry I though you'd added rookie 18 to the deal not Nat 31.

I still think Clark is worth more than that given what he could produce (94 avg in 2009 and a former Top 10 draft pick) but I agree that it's a bit of a risk due to his injury history and battle with depression. He looks to be back on track now though so he'll be an absolute bargain for Pick 31 as a ruc/forward even if he goes a 75/80 avg.

It's not the worst deal ever offered but it's still not great. Anyway I'm over it, let's move on now.

Fringe 22? He was struggling with recurring ankle injuries all season. If he had a full pre-season and was injury free he would've been in their 22. Just look what he did in r23 when given the chance.

He got 60+ possessions and was not injured and didn't get a game the next week. Also in Round 23 JPK was injured (plus the Swans rested a few).

Titch's issue is, imo, that he's too similar to players they have a lot of already in those strong in and under mids. He's competing for a spot with the likes of JPK, K Jack, Hannebery, McVeigh, McGlynn etc.

Which is why he's not getting a game and guys like Bird, Rohan, Cunningham and Lloyd play over him - they offer different things to the team aside from contested ball winning (Swans already have that in JPK and K Jack) like pace, tagging ability and outside run.

So yes, I stand by my assertion he's only fringe 22 at the moment whereas Franklin is the best forward in the competition and in the Top few forwards for scoring ability. He started slow but only one game under 77 in his last 12 matches (15 counting finals).

Come on, even with Mitchell's age difference you're not going to convince me this would have been a fair deal.

Is there some kind of time after the trade period allowed to renegotiate rejected trades?? In other comps you atleast get a couple of days but mainly a week to renogiate them does that happen here?? I really don't care bout the Caddy one no more I won't be paying more for him but let's say I came into the same situation as the Buddy for Mitchell trade.... Yeah a lil unfair and prolly takes a Nat pick upgrade to make it even enough to pass so do we get a chance to do rectify it before the Nat trade period or is just ruled even and we have to do it next period??
