I think this is a fair trade, helps my nat and rookie draft positions.

Everyone seems to agree this trade definitely needs some work. Caddy and Clark for 2 post 20 picks doesn't seem close, Tippett for Rook 18 is close to fair but doesn't help even the trade up.

Tippet is a spud wouldn't take him with my last compensation pick let alone R18 lol but yeah all good man FF let us know before so we worked this out were I'll get another spud in Silvagni and give Nat 31 aswell

It's closer but I think FF is offline now so we'll have to talk about it tomorrow. I think Caddy was the main sticking point and the fact that there were no picks under 20 to compensate for him, so I can't promise this will pass either.

In response to that mate....Cause he's getting 24 & 26 for Caddy now which is better then one mid to late teen Nat pick, Clarke is worth 31 maybe and Tippet Silvagni would be lucky to even be picked up in the rookie draft so R18 is more then fair for them so that's my reasoning but yeah that's cool let us know  :)

TRADE PERIOD ONE IS NOW CLOSED. I gave a little bit of leeway for coaches but only trades done before this post will be considered.
We now have about a two week wait until we start our National draft, it will commence in the days following the AFL Draft on the 27th of November.

Sorry mate but I think this trade, even the revised version, is horrible and I don't like to see people ripped off which is what you're doing to Atto.

Josh Caddy has shown some very good signs already and is poised to break-out, probably as a mid/fwd, in the coming season. Especially when some of the other older Cats midfielders retire (SJ, Bartel, Kelly etc).

He was traded to the Cats for a mid first round pick plus Nat 55 in the AFL and has since developed (and possibly gained dpp next year) which makes him worth more than two second round nat picks.

That leaves Nat 31 for Mitch Clark and Joel Tippett. Not enough I don't think - still in Pickers favour.

The addition to this deal also doesn't improve it.

Silvagni is a spud however with McPharlin's body shaky he could get some good gametime this year and is not that much worse than rookie 18 so you haven't really improved the deal at all.

However, my main concern is that Atto is trading out four players and only getting picks in return. These kids (especially second round/later draft picks) are not going to be ready to play for at least 2-3 seasons at least whereas Caddy is just coming in to his prime, Clark could come good at Geelong and the other two are fringes of the Best 22 at their clubs already.

So that sets his already weak team back a long way and I don't really want to see any uncompetitive teams in the competition.

PS - for the record I'd have given up Nat 19 + 22 for Caddy if that's what you think he's worth Atto :P

memph i think you're over evaluating Clarke and Caddy to an extent Clarke is worth bugger all and is a big risk and also the rookie pick is actually pretty valuable due to the left over players from the recycled draft and Joel Tippett worth bugger all so he will get a decent player in the rookie draft

the trade isn't worth blocking imo it's nowhere near as bad as you seem to think just because you don't like the idea of him trading players for picks

Yeah shower up Memph as if I'm ripping him off, he came to me saying no one could match my offer and another coach told him to take it cause it was a good offer and then I chuck in Nat 31 aswell ::)

There's Nuthin wrong with the trade as KB said your overrating Clark a guy who hasn't played in 2 yrs mate!! So ya welcome to put your opinion in on trades I'm actually glad you did unlike other coaches but don't sit there and say your being a saint trying to stop me from ripping ppl off or some shower when that clearly isn't what happend!!


And if you wanted to pay 19 & 22 or wateva it was for caddy then ya should got ya ass into gear and made it happen then mate no point tellin someone when the trade period is over lol

Me too SR I nearly paid heaps more then Mitchell lol

But nicely done Ele if/when goes through would make you premiership favs over LF IMO mate, team looks deadly now  8)
