Howdy all,

Now with the off-season upon us, I thought it would be time for some fun and interesting discussions to keep us entertained.

First off, lets talk teams of the year! By this, I want the wonderful FanFootians to think about who you would select in:

1. Aboriginal Team of the Year

2. Delisted Team of the Year (rolling until Final List Lodgement on Dec 5)

If anyone has other suggestions for fun, kooky teams of the year, I'll add it, and off we go!

I'll kick things off with my Aboriginal Team of the Year.

Something that will cause some controversy with my selections, but I have decided to give each club a chance to be represented in my team. It does mean that there are some unorthodox selections, but it gives a feel of overall unity.

Without further ado, here is my team.

FB: A. McGrath (BRI), M. Johnson (FRE), N. Jetta (MEL)
HB: C. Dempsey (ESS), C. Hampton (GWS), S. Burgoyne (HAW)
C: K. Stevens (WB), M. Stokes (GEE), S. Edwards (RIC)
HF: C. Rioli (HAW), A. Walker (CAR), C. Wingard (PTA)
FF: E. Betts (ADE), L. Franklin (SYD), A. Goodes (SYD)
R: P. Ryder (ESS), H. Bennell (GC), D. Wells (NM)

INT: T. Milera (STK), T. Armstrong (COL), J. Griffin (FRE), S. Wellingham (WC)

Only bloke that stands out as missing for me would be Lewis Jetta. Not his best season, but definitely ahead of some of those named.

Vinny

Since you are doing one player per club, I think Yarran gets the spot over Walker for Carlton, he has a good year and Walker was injured for most of the season.

Mr.Craig

B: A.McGrath, M.Johnson, C.Dempsey
HB: S.Burgoyne, J.Harbrow, C.Yarran
M: S.Motlop, H.Bennell, B.Hill
HF: C.Wingard, A.Goodes, D.Wells
F: E.Betts, L.Franklin, C.Rioli

Ruck: P.Ryder, M.Stokes, S.Hill
Int: D.Pearce, C.Hampton, B.Matera, L.Thomas

His season was actually pretty on par with his 2012 season stat wise apart from goals kicked, easily part of the team.

Notable lack of Stevie May ;)

Courtney Dempsey sucks. Swap him with May

Also throw Jake Neade in  ;) He really deserved to make it, no bias

Wingard and Griffen are Aboriginal? wahttt. Thought Wingard looked european if anything... And griffen... surprising!

how does armstrong even make the bench? 5 games for the year, avg at best. Surely Lewis Jetta over him if not in the starting team

He picked at least one from each team, so he needed someone from Collingwood in there ;)

I would have to say that Jamie Bennell would get a spot in front of Wellingham, he has been a revelation down back for the eagles this season! :D

Correct  :)

Wingard's Father is Indigenous, his Mother is Irish

Yeah I'm adamant that Ryan Griffen has no Indigenous heritage whatsoever

It's Jonathon Griffin not Ryan.
