Heeney

“In his soccer he scored 68 goals in 12 games, when they were really young. But then he picked up a cricket bat and played an age above himself in division one up here in Newcastle and his batting average was 216”

in my desperate search for defenders this year, I was wondering if anyone has heard how Gary Rohan is going this pre season?

Thanks Tabs. Nicely priced, just may be the early season pick I need.  ;)

Sounds like he will be rebounding
QuoteRohan's greatest asset is his ability to break games open with blinding runs from the defensive 50.

But his speed can be a detriment, with the 23-year-old acknowledging he has had to work hard on his kicking on the run.

"When I go to kick it, I've got to ease off a bit in those last two steps," Rohan says.

"I've worked a lot with Nick Davis in the pre-season as well and I'm probably kicking the best I have for a while which gives me more confidence.

"I'll back myself now which is good."

my only concern is the information coming out of the swans doesnt match this article, that also references no one.

i do like to hear his info regarding taking a few steps to steady before disposal, was one area he did lack

Thinking about Jetta's role.......

Does he take Shaw's spot if Shaw doesn't hold his own in the first couple of weeks. I would prefer Jetta on the wing with the masssive boot kicking in to the 50 or kicking goals

Yeah, me too. Rohan into defense with Heeney/Jones or someone like that, Shaw/Laidler working through the other side, but only until the young kids are ready.

Leave Jetta on the wing and give Bjack the other.

Capper

Yes, Jones could be a straight replacement for Esky as well

BJack could be the sub, does have good wheels

jeff

Heeney is going to be an absolute Jet.

yeah could be a lot better

QuoteSYDNEY Swans star Kurt Tippett will not play in the NAB Challenge after suffering a lower leg injury in last Friday's intra-club match.

The Swans are hopeful, however, he will be available for round one despite missing up to four weeks of training as a result of the setback.

Tippett, who has otherwise enjoyed a strong pre-season, hurt his right tibia/fibula joint during the intra-club game at Marrickville.

"Kurt has had an outstanding pre-season so we don’t expect this setback to significantly impact his readiness for round one," Swans football manager Tom Harley said in a statement provided to AFL.com.au.

"He is likely to sit out our three NAB Challenge matches but at this stage remains on track for round one."

Not sure why Rose and Jones are missing the game
