Heard a grab of Eddie talking about Beams this morning and have to say that even though he cops so much shower, he truly has Beams best interests in mind. Pies will try and find a situation where Beams can stay at the club and fly to see his sick dad regularly. If they can't then they are more than happy to deal with Brissie or GC as long as its reasonable. Beams also said it had nothing to do with the culture and that he got on well with Bucks.

Doubt if we will ever know if it is the culture or Bucks that would be the last thing he would say when trying to leave the club even if it was a part of it along with being with his family it would not be made public

The pies line up is starting to look just a little brittle and soft. Hope there a plans afoot to remedy this quickly.  :-\

Big money from the Lions... Not sure how the Pies think they will get two top-10 picks from a Qld club though? ???

Pies seem to do welll at the trade table to be fair....wouldn't put it past them

If Kennedy, Broomhead, Grundy, Shaz and Freeman can all take a step or two forward it will help their cause.

Are you kidding? Heath Shaw is one of the best backmen in the AFL. Losing (with one o) him, Maxwell and O'Brien (that other guy is half the player that he was) in the space of 2 seasons leaves them very green down back.

Toga

Beams obviously a more prominent loss but I think all of those blokes had a lot to add to the team when on song so yes it is starting to hit them hard.

Still a lot of young fellas that they have bought into the system in the last couple of years though that might soften the blow. Kennedy, Broomhead, Martin and Freeman need to step up this season ;)

Shaw I will give you is a loss, but you got a pretty handy midfielder in Adams for him.
Thomas has been a shadow since his injury and no guarantees to ever be as good as 2011/12 again and you ended up with Scharanberg who looks more than promising
Wellingham is a spud (just ask West Coast - but East Perth thank you) and getting Grundy for him was a MASSIVE improvement
Dawes was also beyond his use by date and in return you picked up Tim Broomhead
Lumumba is a loss, but the disharmony he causes (supposedly) leaving will help and you should get a decent player or pick for him.

Beams is the big loss in terms of age and ability. Shaw, yes and no. Adams helps the future and they had a ready made rebounding defender in Seedsman who was injured. Langdon stepped up in his first season which is also a positive sign but what hurt them was lack of key position depth due to the injuries to Brown, Reid and co.  Collingwood have basically done a mini-rebuild without even bottoming out. As Sydney Rox said, Wellingham has been in the reserves due to his ishy performances at the Eagles and they managed to get Grundy in that trade, Dawes has had injury issues the entire time he has been at the Demons and has played maybe 5 good games in his entire time there, Harry O is not worth the trouble, Thomas is overpaid for what he dishes out every week and Maxwell couldn't play on a man ever.

When a quarter of your best 22 all leave in the space of a couple of years its going to damage any team.

Pretty much. Beams easily the biggest loss
