I'll give more thoughts later but two things -

1. I honestly didn't give us a hope. That was the best performance this team has had under Clarkson and it came in a GF.

2. With 2008 and 2013 people could always make the argument that Geelong and Fremantle kicked themselves out of it and they lost rather than Hawthorn winning. Not today, it was all us and it was flowering glorious.
Well played Hawks, broke us at our own game. Was confident on Friday night but worried how the Swans backs would hold up and they didnt.

Mr.Craig

Seriously though -

+144 disposals
+38 marks
+6 tackles
+13 scoring shots
+20 inside 50's
+10 contested possessions
+137 uncontested possessions
+5 goal assists
+14 one percenters
+4 stoppages
+2 clearances
+8 marks inside 50
+9.2% effective disposals
+7.6% goal accuracy
+17 bounces
-4 clangers

Toga

That uncontested possessions stat is the one that really stands out to me, Swans shouldn't have let you dominate on the outside like that and that is how you killed them. But your Hawks were just clearly better all day!

+137 uncontested possessions

crazy in a GF

Mr.Craig

Can't wait to read the book that will be written about this year. 8)

"Playing To Win" was great last year but there's been so much more drama this time round.

Mr.Craig

Graham Wright has been huge for us and that's why Carlton threw everything at trying to steal him. But let's not forget the coaching staff too. Aside from Clarko there's Luke Beveridge, Brendon Bolton, Cameron Bruce, Brett Ratten, Monkey and our development coaches. They have all done an amazing job with the list.

Ricochet

Honestly did not see that coming. Well done Hawks, truly amazing.
The Rioli selection was genius.

Really? I thought he was easily the least effective Hawk. Only player to be well beaten by his opponent

I don't know what game you were waching, but that's not what I saw. He was awesome in the first quarter, and good in the 2nd and 3rd before he got subbed off. The stats sheet doesn't say much, but he played well.
