Starting to regret not trying to get more/higher picks in the Top 20 :(

Oh well, Pick 21: Alex Neal-Bullen
About time a Glenelg boy got drafted! Trade me  :P

He was one of the ones on my list for my next two picks. Nice stuff Rusty
Couldn't let him drop to you given the Dolphins haul so far is Heeney, Laverde, Steele, Blakely :o

What can I say, I need midfielders :P

Before this draft all I had were Coniglio, Caddy, Guthrie, Langford, Holman, McGinnity, Graham, Kent and B Jack. Not very inspiring.

Don't blame you at all for the picks but I will ask one thing

How does a team that trades Ablett, be left with no Captain option?

Even the Llamas traded the overrated Dangerfield but we have guys like Macrae to cover. Danger got us Viney and Mundy too

Just wondering how the Dolphins lose the best player and don't have a top Mid to cover? No blame on Memfy at all, just curious as to how the team ended up with no midfield stars at all?

Bit like how the Crocs have em all I suppose, little care as to what a trade will do to the competition ???

In the end for Ablett we ended up getting Coniglio and Tom Boyd (as we on-traded Isaac Smith) and Jordan Murdoch.

That's one future top midfielder and one future top forward.

Coniglio I think will be good enough to become a captain option - he gets a lot of the ball and racks up the tackles while Boyd was the real coup but he was always going to take a while to develop.

Hopefully he should come on a lot faster now at the Bulldogs as he'll play every game most likely. That trade was a big blessing for us.

Dolphins rebuild was a very long term project for me. Out of all the XV comps and I've also got a pretty young/wooden spoon side in the BXV.

Part of the issue for both this team and that team was that the cores of the teams were okay but the former coaches I think must not have known much about drafting as the second an third tier of players at Taiwan and Staines were utter garbage.

Look at the list of players that have been delisted this year and last year from the Dolphins:

Jared Brennan
Jason Blake
Brett Ebert
Joel Corey
Cameron Richardson
Nick Lower
Kyal Horsley
Alex Howson
Jack Osborn
Orren Stephensen
Leigh Osbourne
Alwyn Davey
Kyle Hardingham
Jason Porplyzia
Jack Hutchins (delisted)
Dayle Garlett (retired/delisted)
Clinton Jones (delisted)
Josh Hunt (retired)
Scott Gumbleton (retired)
Nick Hayes (delisted)
Jesse Stringer (delisted)
Nick Bourke (delisted)
Corey Dell'Olio
Alan Toovey
Jason Winderlich
Jordon Bourke

So trading has been about improving the list as a whole in the long run more so than swapping guns for guns.

For example the Harley Bennell trade this season. Yes he'll be a gun but in return we got Josh Caddy, Nat 15 (Laverde), Dean Towers and upgraded Nat 34 to Nat 31.

Done very well, just a shame the crocs were allowed to rape everything in sight. Wont matter anyway one the Llamas step up and bit them in the ass :o

I shall hopefully be doing some stepping up and ass biting as well around the same time you are.

Crocs might have the best team but Bears have the two titles. Looking forward to watching out the premiership race pans out next season from our lowly position on the ladder.

From memory of when I asked him, he has FB but doesn't really use it and doesn't really give it out to anybody he doesn't know personally or hasn't met irl.

McGovern is overrated based on half a year of footy. That's why we tried to ontrade straight away.

The comment was that we rape every trade and I don't appreciate that. So far this period we've done

OUT  Josh Caddy + Dean Towers + NAT 15 + NAT 31
IN  Harley Bennell + NAT 34
overpaid

OUT  Claye Beams + Dylan Buckley + NAT 34
IN  Chris Mayne + NAT 68
overpaid

OUT  Bryce Gibbs + ROOK 47
IN  Nick Malceski + Nick Dal Santo
gave up gun

and even older trades like Lecca for Parker when Parker was barely a 100ave mid and Lecca was an established 120+ fwd

JBs-Hawks

Those first two trades are no way overpays at all by you.

+1, but the last one is a fair trade.
