Profile

In all the key statistical areas Devon Smith had a career best season. He was ranked 6th at the Giants for average disposals, 8th for tackles and came equal second for goals. In every game where Devon had 21 or more disposals he scored a minimum of 92 points, and often it was much more than that with four scores over 120 for the year. He finished ranked 11th for fantasy forwards and with a number of guys above him likely to lose DPP he could become a more appealing option. If Smith's 2014 scores are anything to go by he's a rollercoaster that you need to sit on for the whole journey, if you choose to get on or off at the wrong time it could really hurt. Ride it out and you should get a healthy average by season's end.

Pros - Big ceiling, good stats across the board, continues to improve

Cons - Inconsistent scoring

Prediction - 92-96

i'm probably going to start him in all comps

Spinking

Is hitting an age and experience level where scores will start to level out. Has been inconsistent, but I'd expect a higher average in 2015. Can't see him losing DPP yet, and would not be surprised to see him as a top 6 fwd for the year.

lock for me if he keeps FWD
probably won't lose it for 2015, but in a year or two's time, then goneski

He'll never be a full time mid. He only played so much midfield this season due to Coniglio, Green and Whitfield missing so many matches.

So when those 3 play regular games does that see Devon's mid time (and AF scores) decline ?

He played as a fwd/mid for most of the year and it was just the last 5 games where he got significant midfield time when all the others were knackered or missing (Ward another). He can still score big playing the half forward role but not as consistent. Could still average 90+ without the extra midfield time but I wouldn't expect any improvement.

Mr.Craig

Yeah, that's why I was cautious with my prediction. Don't think he'll ever be that 100+ guy but maintaining mid 90's is achievable.

Was that enough midfield time this year to lose dpp mate?

Mr.Craig

I'd be very surprised if he lost it.
