Is there any rules you think need changing? - the sub rule is coming back

Is there any rules or tactics you would think are interesting.
I do have ideas
-for tagging
- ruck rules so that tall players dont get the 50% OOP

If people are interested I will expand on them if not then we will leave it simple.

Do people want a proper pre season comp?

What are peoples thoughts on the Byes,
- Do we want the weeks off
- Do we want North v South back
- Do we want a comp where we have teams of 2,3,4 and compete to create some alliances? we could have the Hungarian Polar Bears.

With trading slowing down and the national abit away just wanted peoples thoughts and ideas to improve the comp.

No rookie lists would be awesome

Thanks for bringing this up LF.

Rookie lists have been scraped. I dont think anyone liked it and having it for the sake of looking like the AFL abit pointless.
so team lists have just expanded.

I love all the alterations and new ideas but I almost think that keeping it simple is the best policy, I'm not even hugely on the sub rule!

All good discussion though!

Nige

I think one of the charms of Euros is the simplicity honestly, I wouldn't want to change anything really.

Don't like the sub rule or any of the other things suggested.

Pre-season comp is fine though, should be used to generate interest in the upcoming season and test where teams stand after their offseasons.

Abolishing the rookie list is a good idea.

Holz

ok this is good it was the vibe i was getting.

i agree the good thing about the euro is that it is pretty simple.

I guess the downside is it means in the offseason there isnt much going on as really with 14 teams people dont have many glaring holes and if they do our draft is very strong.

It means though that the Euro drafts are always loads of fun with even the premier getting decent picks.

Ill put in a vote on the sub thing as adding up the numbers i can see that it destroys some teams in particular HGA. You can have a guy go down injured for 5 points when someone on the bench puts up say 70.

but then they count as the lowest scoring player with the second lowest say putting up 50.

thats a hit of 115 points which basically is the difference in a win and a loss.

im thinking

1. No sub rule take the hit
2. Normal sub rule.
3. If people dont like the Sub rule then a subbed player cant be your lowest scorer/
4. the most simple is no sub rule and then maybe like 50 points, 30 points ect... as the Home Ground Advantage.

Preseason comp is happening this year and something in mid season, I actually like the team thing as can see that being lots of fun, but people might want the weeks off so the North v South only really involves 2 coaches but if people are keen the team means everyone is involved just not watching.

elephants

Just like in the AFL, there's luck involved.

I do honestly see merit in the sub rule but I don't like it, takes away a lot of intesity/suspense in matches imo.

what do you think about them not getting involved in the HGA.

agree injuries are unlucky but its kinda a double blow if your a Home team.

do think we need to not count them in HGA or have an fixed HGA

Don't mind them not counting in HGA if they played less than half a game or something? Reckon that does have merit!

Scrads

I wouldn't mind no sub rule, but HGA minimum is also at least 30 (for example). So if you get an injury for less than 30, you'll still get 30 HGA.

Make is 50 so it's somewhat significant and I agree with this

LaHug

I'm not fussed either way for a sub rule but I very much don't like the ruck one. You should have to have a ruck because that's a whole point of fantasy team planning.
