Profile

When you suffer back to back knee reconstructions and haven't played a full game since the Under 18's you're not meant to come out and win the J.J Liston medal as the best player in the VFL. But that's exactly what Woodward did and he also made his long awaited AFL debut along the way. Touted as a replacement for Brad Sewell, Woodward's excellent scores in the VFL came on the back of high tackle numbers and the hope would be that he can replicate that in the seniors. He'll be super cheap in 2015 so the question will be whether he can find a home in the starting 22. If that looks to be the case then he's worth considering.

Pros - Strong tackler, accumulator

Cons - Poor kick/handball ratio, essentially an unknown quantity at AFL level

Prediction - 62-66

What was the reason for the 8 in the VFL Craig?

Shoulder injury that kept him out for a couple of weeks after that.

Looks to be a decent scorer and may be a handy cash cow depending on when he gets games. Think he will be a popular choice for the sub though until he nails down a spot.

Only worth consideration if he moves to a club where he is more likely to cement a place in the starting 11, don't know how likely Hawthorn are going to want to part with their Liston Trophy winner though.

kilbluff1985

might get more games depending on if some players retire

worth considering if named round 1

Haha, good call.  ;)

But yeah, my boy! If he's got a place in the 22 in Round 1 next year, get on him.
