Some frees don't mean anything, this one did. Doesn't matter what happened "all day", at that crucial point poor decisions were made in Hawthorn's favour.

What a load of crap. It doesn't matter when a free kick is paid! If it's paid in the 2nd quarter and kick a goal it's the same as getting one in the last quarter.

Spangher got done for a BS holding the ball when he didn't have it.
Monfries got a BS free kick for front on contact when Gibson had his eyes on the ball the whole time.

But no let's pick out one holding the ball free because it was in the last minute  ::)

Mate that one free kick with a minute to go can be game changing. If the one down the other end was ball then Lake dragging it in at the end should of been ball and Port have a shot to pinch it. Free kick counts mean nothing, why should they be close anyway, umps should pay whats there not to level them up. Umps sh!t their pants and flowerd up badly in my opinion.

I take this comment back. I posted it a time when their were like 2 or 3 free kicks in a row against Hawthorn that were borderline. THe umpiring the whole game was pretty bad.
