Beams was the must have mid for this season due to his discounted price.Next season however you`ll be paying the price to start the year with him which will probably make him a bit more unique and the fact that players like Joel Selwood and Tom Rockliff are probably more on peoples radar to start the year with.He did get injured again at the end of the season so hopefully he is good to go for a full preseason.

kilbluff1985

will be a good POD but i doubt will make my team

Ricochet

I'll still be starting him I think. He should sit around that 120 ave

Thinking about starting him over Pendlebury..

Depends on the early draw but Beams rarely gets tagged.. Pendles output was down and Beams took full advantage in the last few weeks.

Underpriced with his last score of the year affected by injury.

Torpedo10

Thinking about him. Gotta wonder if Pendles is due for a poor year.

Everything with beams changes now.
probably the most likely for the Brisbane tag.
That brizzy midfield is looking spectacular.

A few of the lions mids are going to go spastic this year, interesting to see who it is. Beams hanley rocky bundy zorko rich redden aish taylor.
Probably a wait and see

I highly doubt he'd get the tag tbh. Will still go to Hanley and Rich, as I'd argue they're more damaging with the ball. If he does get the tag though...LOCK IN RICH AND HANLEY

Dayze

Maybe Hanley if he starts the year well but round one will b beams. Rich will go half back and still get his defensive forward follower.
Beams has been unaccountable for years and its coming to an end. Very good news for the rest of ur quality midfield.
Good times ahead for brizy if one of ur young forwards stands up.
Mark my words. Tag is heading for beams

Ringo

Still think tag may go to Hanley as he is a devastating runner with the ball and coaches will want to shut that run down.  We have seen how effective it is when Hanley is shut down.
I see Beams as a bit like Rocky that not tagged but you try and cut down the disposal efficiency.

If Rich goes to midfield expect a tag as he will not be left free to use that lethal left boot.

elephants

Rich and Hanley with the tags imo. Redden, Beams, Rocky to tear up :')

If you'd tag Beams over Hanley, Rich etc I think you need to see a psychiatrist. Beams is not as damaging as rich/Hanley when he gets the ball.

Wouldn't be surpsied if teams did tag him man. Is a goal kicking midfielder than racks 30+ possies most games. If Hanley plays off hb you'd expect the tag to go to Beams

imo only one of Hanley and Rich will play half back at a time, so Id tag whichever one of them were going through the midfield.

I think the various points of view in this discussion illistrate the problems opposition coaches will have deciding who to tag very well.

I actually think the tag(s) given to Brisbane players will be a fluid situation that will depend on varying factors (form, history, ground, state of the game etc), but it all adds up to one thing........Brisbane's midfield will be a potent weapon, possibly the best in the league.
