The difference is let's say there is a couple new pages since last time you read the thread it takes you to the last post you read
Which might be on like pages 2 of a 4 page thread

And it's obviously hard to remember where you last read on each thread so I use the feature often but only seems to if clicking on the thread from the forum index

it is a great suggestion, but something I cant ever see you using considering the amount of time you spend online, the chance of two people responding before you go back must be nil!! :P

Happens when I go to sleep lol

Clicking on the NEW button for me does the exact same thing as going straight to a thread from the forum index.

From the main forum index you can't even click the new button

Oh, are you saying to have a similar function on this page?

He's saying that accessing a thread from the main forum index has the same effect as clicking the blue 'new' button next to a thread in an actual section (e.g. Players & Trades in SC). It goes immediately to the last viewed (by you) post, not the most recent post.

When I go to the Forum Threads which have new replies in the child boards are highlighted and i just go in there click new and takes me to the last post I have read.  As an example went into the World Xv trade discussion thread and took to the last post I had read and there were some 3 pages after it.

Where there are no child boards eg the new Match Day thread just click on the topic and the threads come up with new which I then click on the new so similar to above.

Also if you click on the new replies section to something you have posted you will see all posts after you posted.

So not sure what the real issue here is as i use the new function in both and I go to last post read.  And just had a look again and some topics i have not read even though 12 months are still there with new.  Just cliked on one and it took me back to 2012.

I give up trying to explain it doing my head in

The last few pages of this thread is giving me a headache lol

Justin Bieber

I've had a headache past few days :(. Probably unrelated to FF business :P.

GoldDigger

Wouldn't it be OK if HP could just hold the ground instead of letting everything slip like m0nty has?

Hold what you can first, HP, go further later ...

Justin Bieber

Yeah, after the first day or two, taken a step back from using many powers or exploring :P. Got some stuff to deal with that takes priority but not gonna let FF fall too far as still here almost everyday :D.

Ringo

Nice Plan HP - You have done a lot early so now is time to prioritise yourself.  Do not allow FF to cause your other priorities to slip.

Is there an 'Unsubscribe' button that could be added to threads you don't wish to be notified about any more? :)

kilbluff1985

you just click notify again

but we don't get emails anyway

Toga

That stops you from having the threads appear in the 'New replies' section kb?
