Profile

When he wasn't bleeding from the head or ducking Selwood went about putting in another premium fantasy season. It was looking a bit shaky part way through the year with his average dipping below 100 thanks to some heavy tagging but he finished off with a 119.1 average in his last 9 games. This made it six seasons in a row he has averaged above 103 while also only missing a handful of games across those years, making him one of the surest bets in the game. There's no reason to believe he can't keep it up for a few years yet.

Pros - Proven scorer, high ceiling, high tackle numbers

Cons - Still struggles with the tag sometimes, will have to take the good with the bad when picking him

Prediction - 103-107

Sweetness

Get what you pay for.
Pretty safe bet for a 100-110 average again next year.

pommyadam

119 average over his last 9 as me looking at him purely as an upgrade target (after he bottoms out at around 400k around the byes)

was damn infuriating this season, pretty sure I jumped on just before his 2 sub 80 games :(

nrich102

I really want him in my team, but don't think he'll be affordable with Gaz and The Pig

Ricochet

Yeh last two years he has started slow and then come home with a wet sail. Look to upgrade to him again next year

Joel Selwood - year in halves

2013 - improved by 20% (97 to 116)
2012 - 3% worse (105 to 101)
2011 - improved by 5% (106 to 112)
2010 - improved by 18% (98 to 116)

so yeah.... the ideal play for Jelwood is jumping on around the rd10-12 mark (or the byes) and reaping the rewards

Great find.
Lock in for a possible bye round upgrade.

Spinking

Nice stats Pommy. Have always felt he was a bit of a slow starter and that confirms it.

Wasn't really considering him as a starter, but this makes him more appealing as a mid season upgrade.
