Profile

After flowering up his achilles, Van Berlo missed the entire 2014 season. The Crows captain looks set to return in 2015 but will he be a good fantasy pick? Those with rose coloured glasses will look to his 2011 average of 93.5 and hope he can replicate similar numbers but the reality will probably be closer to the high 60's of 2013. With a 50% discount he could be priced somewhere in the vicinity of 200k which is very tasty indeed and given he's the captain his JS shouldn't be an issue but the question remains - would you be happy taking those 2013 scores on your field each week even if you're making money out of him? I'm on the fence and it will be dependent on the quality of the other options around that price range.

Pros - Previous solid scorer, good JS

Cons - Age, coming back from serious injury, potential for low scores, being used as a tagger

Prediction - 67-72

Sweetness

Another great write up!

Was used primarily as a tagger in 2013 hence the low scoring. If Kerridge becomes a regular next year he may take that job, which might free VB up.

May even be sub 200k if given a 50% haircut, which will make him mighty tempting.
Monitoring closely.

Mr.Craig

Actually after I posted this I had a look around for what the discounts were for 2014 and I think the max was 27% so his price might not be as good as hoped. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Ricochet

Yeh a lot will depend on his price as he'll be competing with guys like Rich for that midpricer spot in peoples midfields

Spinking

Yep, as above will all come down to price. Clearly won't be a keeper so depends on how much cash he can make. I wouldn't think it will be substantial.
