Apparently Hogan was having a go at him in the VFL for not trying hard enough so I think we all saw this coming

I heard about that too, I already love Hogan.

3rd round pick in return and I'll be so happy. Still, shame he has so much talent but little willingness to play hard.

... or that we ignored Luke Shuey for him, but fine.

SAM Blease and Melbourne have agreed to part ways, with the 23-year-old seeking opportunities elsewhere after playing just two senior games in 2014.
I am very happy about this, this guy will be a gun, I will never back down on my love for this player, he will become a top fantasy player. Him moving clubs is a good thing. :)

I will never back down.

GWS has just traded Sam Frost, picks 40 & 53 to Melbourne for its pick 23.

Bit of a goodwill trade there by the Dees? Could easily have just had Frost walk to them in the PSD...

Already have a pretty good trade relationship with GWS and they probably wanted to keep it that way. Also means we can delist an extra player if we use 53

How are Dees fans feeling about the trade period? I think you guys did pretty well.

What do you guys think your best 22 looks like with your new recruits?

Somewhat disappointed about our last trade... could have got Frost for nothing, but Mac makes a good point.

Overall, I think we did good. Got Stretch for our third rounder, when for a while he looked like he could have cost us a second rounder.

Garlett trade was the highlight for me.

Nothing wrong with Lumumba, should be a steady and consistent performer for us.

Got the best compo for Frawley too.

But I am disappointed we didn't land a big fish with one of our draft picks... I just assumed we would heading in. But, to no avail...

Brayshaw and McCartin will be your big fish ;)

Yeh I feel the same - Sure we should be able to draft two good kids, but our list is still in a worse position than it was at this time last year.

Well yeah, pretty much. As good as both our picks may or may not be, you can't expect them to have a decent impact in their first year, and on paper, our midfielder HAS NOT CHANGED. Our biggest problem was our midfield kicking it properly to our forward line, and with no new, skillful, classy, star mids that we really needed to trade for with those picks, I don't see that aspect of our game improving and hence I don't really see us improving next year  :(

And do we really want McCartin? I'd much prefer to draft Brayshaw and take the next best mid, even if who that might be is debatable. But, I reckon we'll probably draft McCartin, wait AGES for him to develop enough to have an impact, and then in the mean time we stay in the bottom 6, while free agency continues to take all our best players.

We needed to get an impact player, NOW. Otherwise I doubt we can't break this (endless?) cycle of being in the bottom 10.

Sometimes I just feel we're just a farm for the top clubs  :-\ I reckon the same will happen to the saints and dogs.

Can you take McCartin just so the poor bugger doesn't end up at GWS?  :P

I can just picture the commentary hell of McCarthy and McCartin  :P (both not getting games at GWS...)

georgiou delisted.

Opinions from melbourne fans? I didn't actually see many of his games, but looking at his matchups he seemed to be going ok.
