Ricochet

I think bridges were burnt in the last trade negotiations when he left Brisbane. Can't see him coming over now

Rusty00

It was an odd choice of words by his agent given what has happened since that trade period ???

Mailman the 2nd

Lyon doesn't seem to think very highly of him anymore after he burnt them to take Melbourne's offer instead as Ric said, wouldn't look likely

yep, i'm suspicious as nothing raised by his camp (or this agent) at that time when he suddenly went to Melb instead of Freo - all the news reports and commentary then were basically labelling him a 'mercenary', though no-one should begrudge any player for 'show me the money' or going for the dough because of the relatively short-term nature of your money-making window, but the stated reasons he wanted to leave Brisbane were to return home for 'family reasons' and then he just decided to move to Melb!  :o   ::)

Trade of a liftetime!!!  Hmmm, $700k per season for 3 seasons and a total of 15 games.

BEST TRADE EVER!

I almost spat my tea out in a fit of laughter when I read that. What the f### is he on? No idea what went on during trade week, but all I do know is that his WA based client wanted to trade from Brisbane because he was homesick, and somehow found his way to Melbourne for 700k a year...where he traded his homesickness for mental health issues...retired...and then decided he  felt a little bit better and wanted another crack at AFL....but of course...not at Melbourne.
Trade of a lifetime indeed

Hindsight is 20/20 :P

At the time fremantle really should have gotten him... who knows, he mightn't have had his string of injuries.

And frankly, given the Dees last 10 years, it's a wonder they haven't had more players retire with depression.

Inappropriate, or simply mindblowing?

Just a warning to keep the banter on the level. No need to make the comment about depression as that is inappropriate as you are belittling the disease somewhat,

Yeah, sorry guys. I wasn't sure when I was writing it (which normally means it isn't appropriate and shouldn't be posted).

I wasn't trying to belittle the condition- what I was trying to say (albeit, too tongue in cheek) is that the troubles Clark's faced since being traded to melbourne mightn't necessarily have surfaced at fremantle.

wasn't remotely offensive as far as I am concerned mate...it's all in context, it was clearly tongue in cheek. Depression is a serious topic we all understand that....but in the context of this situation, it's somewhat comical that a player can deem his depression so bad that he has to retire..and before the season even ends..he is suggesting a return...but not to Melbourne. I think in a forum envionment we can at least raise the possiblity that he has rather engineered this situation and have a little chuckle about it...without belittling depression itself.
That's my view...sorry if anyone finds it offensive.
