Really good first up trade mate.

Owls give: N34
Giants give: J.Johannisen

Similar to Dave taking a punt on a guy being best 22 next season. Joha is young despite playing only 27 games in his career and 11 this season, we really like him. Owls suffered greatly due to a lack of depth in 2013 and we are working very hard to fix that. Hence the loss of picks as I don't have the knowledge to draft in the 30s and Rids/Nost can!

Rids to confirm.

I find it a bit  amusing that the first trade done would have been one the last owner would have raged about. Nails absolutely loved JJ

Also probably why Vinny jumped on him  ;)
Without a doubt.

kilbluff1985

Vinny wouldn't do anything like that ???

Vinny

I bagged JJ for being nobody for so long and it would make absolute zero sense for me to bring him in so I brought him in!

You can look it at me stealing him from Nails team or...it could be seen as me carrying on his legacy. :P

You've become half mini-Nails and half mini-Holz.  :P

Vinny

You say like it's a bad thing, haha. They are both gun XV coaches so thanks! ;)

I gotta PM Nails and say I took Joha from him and watch him lose it. :P

Vinny

Haha thanks, we should probably stop discussing in the trade thread though man. :P

Torpedo10

Grope Lane Give:N28

Manchester Give: Sam Colquhoun

Rids to confirm, basically a bite at this years top 30 was too enticing and letting go a younger potential backman was worth it for us.

Confirmed. The Giants are rebuilding and we see Colquhoun as an important young cog in this rebuild. Always a little risky grabbing a kid coming off a knee but Colquhoun re-signed after it so there is confidence the club sees a future in him.

Rams give: Josh Saunders
Giants give: N35

Rids to confirm.

Even though I really like Saunders and he's good depth, I traded out N25 I think it was to KB and it left me without a second round pick, N35 gets me the last pick in the second round and Rids gets some a decent depth player to add to his list.

Confirmed. Giants continue to build the squad depth with Saunders. We had quite a few nat picks around the 28 to 50 range so it was important to get some depth players in using a few of those picks.

GoLions

Badgers give: R13
Steins give: Harry Cunningham

Basically I want a younger mid for depth, as Boyd and Judd aren't getting any younger, so Cunningham fits in perfectly. While there are quite a few guys available in the rookie draft, there's no guarantee that I'll get who I want, so I'm happy to give up R13 here.

Memph to confirm.

Confirmed.

We already have a good spread of younger midfielders ahead of Cunningham in the pecking order and so will probably use this pick to take a defender or forward in the rookie draft as we lack depth in those areas.

GoLions

Badgers give: Steven May + Brad McKenzie
Hurricanes give: Tom Cutler + N26

Team had a severe lack of Lions players when I took over, so obviously that was my first priority. Haha but in all seriousness, with Harwood's spot in the team not cemented, I feel as though if he's gonna miss some games, it's quite likely that Cutler will be the one to replace him. May probably won't be needed for me for a few years, and by then hopefully Cutler will be getting more games with Merrett and Goose retired. Been after a 2nd round pick for a while now, and happy to offload McKenzie as well, as this balances out the fact that May is worth a fair bit more than Cutler.

Purps to confirm.

Confirmed.

May I reckon is decent, and will serve me better than Cutler. McKenzie I imagine would be well down the pecking order at the roos, but he has potential, and to be honest would prefer to get a player where I know what I'll get with him, rather than use a  draft pick. I'm not too good at drafting  :P

Think this also wraps up all my trade movements.
