Another deal for the Staines Steins - we have been busy!

Staines Steins gives Nat 20 + Nat 52
Swansea Breakers gives Max Gawn and Jarrad Jansen

Ringo/Nrich to confirm

Reasoning - This turns our Melbourne ruck trio (Jamar, Spencer, King) in to a quartet which should help us stay covered if one of them is injured. Also we feel (my assistant is a Demons man) that Gawn could get Ruc/Fwd which would be handy. Good Ruc/Fwd are hard to come by and take time to develop to Pick 20 is a fair price to get one.

Also Jarrad Jansen we think has potential as a hard in-and-under midfielder who score well in this game although being at Geelong he is a long term prospect so pick 52 is fair. We think that getting a player who's been in the system for a year already and shown something (albeit in the VFL) is probably going to work out better for us than a fresh-faced kid we would get at that pick.

Sorry to be so Staines centric but here's one more

Staines Steins give Ryan Lester
Oxford Owls give Nat 23.

Reasoning - pretty fair for a player who is on the fringes of the Lions best 22. When he plays he scores well (read 90-120) but with Redden, Rich and co to return next season will he keep his spot?

We think the Nat pick will be more helpful to us while Lester provides midfield depth for the Owls.
Confirmed.

Crosby Cruisers give NAT 9
Birmingham Dragons give Burgoyne + Cameron Wood + NAT 26

This trade just suits my young team really and I have enough defenders and Ossie has Warnock so Wood is handy for him

confirmed

suits all my needs and still with a decent pick

The second big deal involving the Staines (there's a few smaller ones as well coming hopefully) is with the Crosby Cruisers who by the looks of things are firming as a potential Top 4 team next season.

Staines Steins give: Kurt Tippett + Dean Terlich + Brandon Jack
Crosby Cruisers give: Jack Redden + Jake Barrett.

Ossie to confirm

Our reasoning is that with this deal we pick up a second premium midfielder and potential caption option in Jack Redden which is what our team has been really lacking imo. This should make us much more competitive next season I think although losing Tippett is a bit of a blow as he's a forward starter for us.

Tippett is however a kpp and although possibly a ruc/fwd his loss is offset by Tomlinson's impending arrival. Terlich and Brandon Jack are on the fringes of the best 22 at their respective clubs and could be good however, they could also fade in to obscurity.

We also rate Jake Barrett highly and think will break in to the Giants team next season. Barrett imo is Kieran Jack prototype and so he jumped at the chance to learn under our captain next season.

Hastings Hurricanes gives Jack Hannath
Birmingham Dragons give O' Rourke

Ok this trade is just me getting more ruck depth as Hannath is good backup for Clarke

Purple to confirm

Confirmed!

Think O'Rourke can hopefully fulfill that Pick 2 potential at a Victorian club, should he be traded in real life. Hannath wasn't necessary.

Ricochet

Hedgehogs give: R48
Hurricanes give: Spencer White

Confirmed.

Think I could get a better player in the rookie draft. Spencer has long-term project written all over him, but has promise ofc.

Alright this is what I have been waiting for :D

Couple of big deals going down involving the Staines.

The first is with the Werewolves.

Staines Steins give Ivan Maric + Nat Pick 36
Winchester Werewolves give: Nick Vlastuin + Adam Tomlinson.

Rusty00 to confirm.

With the addition of Grundy in the recycled draft and having most of the Melbourne rucks on our list (Jamar, Spencer, King) we feel we have enough ruck depth and so can let Maric go to strengthen other areas of our team. Vlastuin and Tomlinson each have a good 10+ years ahead of them while Maric is getting on a bit so the pick balances this out.

Tomlinson is a likely B/F which will be very handy for us while Vlastuin will keep B for another year at least and we see him as a future A-grade midfielder.
Confirmed.

Needed a ruckman with Cox's retirement. Had to give up a couple of promising youngsters but Maric proved in the second half of this season that he's one of the better ruckmen going around.

kilbluff1985

think you made a mistake on the movements list Ringo and gave Dragons 2 movements instead of Rams

you prob would of noticed but thought better mention just incase

jhello

Leeds Leeches give: George Horlin-Smith + NAT pick 65
Staines Steins give: Lewis Jetta

The midfield has a lot of players, which means Horlin-Smith isn't getting a place in the team and Jetta would be a good starting forward for us.

Memph to confirm.

LF

Nottingham Hoods give Nat 31 + Rook 28 + Taylor Garner
Staines Steins give Brodie Martin + Nathan Gordan

We needed to add another defender to the team after trading away and delisting a few and Martin is an ideal D4 for us
And Gordan is a great depth mid to add for us

Memph to confirm

Confirm.

The cornerstone of a premiership team is the midfield In our opinion esp with the two uti spots and so GHS adds depth to this area and will be a starter and potential future premium.

Jetta is a loss but with the number 1 pick in the Nat and rookie drafts this shortage can be addressed :)

Garner is a highly rated young forward despite not having played much for North due to injury. Nat 31 is fair for Gordon who we don't see becoming a good scorer really and Rook 28 (with the increased player pool) helps balance out the fact Martin has shown good signs this season.

PS - I reckon that will probably do us for the trade period haha - all our business done on the first day!

Nottingham Hood give Luke Russell + Tom Langdon + Nat Pick 12
Blackpool Bunnies give Ben Griffiths + Scott Lycett

Hoods decided we need to get some decent ruck backup and to secure a young ruck for when Sandilands retires and Lycett fits the bill Griffiths although listed as a defender atm should be a forward next year so adds another forward to our list

SR to confirm

Confirm. Hate to lose these two, Lycett especially, but we have good ruck depth and need young backs/fwds
