Theres no way you will convince me the Bombers didnt keep records. What would be the point of going through a program like this without keeping records to see where theyve improved/gone backwards etc. You dont just wack needles in people without keeping records. The fact the Bombers havent or cant produce everything/anything makes me highly suspicious about what was going in them.
I think kb you dont really get it mate, maybe when you have a family the penny will drop then.

i get it

all i was saying is they had no right to tell him when they don't know what he was given

Grazz

And thats what we are saying mate, if they cant tell him what he took how can Ryder be sure he and his family are going to be ok.

Ricochet

When is comes to family and kids KB you HAVE to lean on the side of caution/think of worse case scenario man. He had to be told

Vinny

There is no excuse, even the possibility that his kid could be harmed is pathetic management by the club.

DazBurg

again i see both sides here

and i do have kids and would wan to know what they are taking

KB's point is though

http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/not-just-essendon-issues-with-supplement-use-by-12-afl-clubs-20131016-2vm11.html

specifically
"- 12 clubs conducted programs with medium or high levels of supplements"
"- These clubs lacked "a single point of accountability"

so KB is saying if 12 other clubs are unaccountable doesn't that mean they could harm there unborn children?

but then KB the others are stating that is thymosin beta 4and AOD are the only ones to really come out so far (they would need so many injections for those 2 things and the couple of sheeps brains etc so must of taken other stuff that could have potential side effects)

(realize both sides probably see where the other in coming from i just didn't wanna be left out :P...)...lol

a single point of accountability just means one person who's at the head of the project/ the one ultimately responsible for the success or failure. Not that there was inadequate record keeping.

Can the Bomber's please just hand Ryder over. Take pick 17 why they can actually get something in return for him. If they don't trade him, he'll take the Dons to court and the contract will be rescinded & he signs to Port as a free agent. Therefore, it is only logical that the Bomber's should praise us giving them pick 17. Most clubs would have went behind the Bomber's backs and there would be no negotiations (Ryder would take the club to court and sign with a new club to everyone's surprise), Port are attempting to at least provide the Bomber's with some form of compensation -because they really don't have to- and that compensation is their first round pick (actually quite an admirable gesture) yet Adrian Dodoro is so stubborn it's ridiculous. The club should honestly accept pick 17 because I don't seen anyway Ryder will stay, and I don't see any other way he'll be happy with this team after the whole saga (the fact alone the club's conduct put individual players under investigating and refute is disgusting. If an institution wants to build rapport, the last thing they should do is drug subordinates who trusted them....)

I reckon Essendon could get pick 5 from the Lions for Ryder, much better deal.

Port have to offer something on top of 17 to even get close to getting Ryder.

I'm pretty sure Ryder has to sign a contract though to finalise it & he has made it quite clear that he is adamant on PAFC.

Beams is likely to go to the Lions anyway in the new 5-way trade proposition (taking pick 5 away). If Ryder wanted to go to another club besides Port, there would be more than one side making offers. He wants to win a premiership so Port, Syd, or Hawthorn are his best bets (Syd can't trade & Hawthorn don't need him). Plus Port's connection with indigenous AFL players (they have a whole department dedicated to the club's indigenous players, current & retired) really appealed to him (it's been reported that he spent time with the indigenous playing group -e.g. Neade, Wingard, Impey etc.- and the facilitators -Bryon Pickett, Gavin Wanganeen-). I  just can't see any other club offering as much significance to an emotionally distraught player. Furthermore, Port are willing to take the risk on him (he's facing a ban of up to 2 years - like most Essendon players). We took the risk on Monfries & he'll apparently be suspended for the first 3-6 months of the 2015 season. I don't think most teams could afford to take the risk on Paddy Ryder -Port are one of the few teams who can. He isn't in demand (like the entire Essendon playing group) and it's just forces them into a worse bargaining position. Really, it could have all been avoided if they hadn't hired such an incompetent coach - i.e. Hird - legendary player, but definitely leans towards the Mark Neeld side of the spectrum in terms of coaching.

Ryder wanted to go to brissie initially. Won't be surprised if thats where he ends up

surely there would be some sort of paperwork on what they were given!
surely Bruce Reid would demand it?!

If there is, who lost it?
