Jay is just jelly coz he wanted them but got his priorities wrong.
Classic Jay.  :P

Ricochet

Mav Weller is an 83SB ave midfielder who was on a rookie list and a tagger. He has only ever cracked a DT tonne once in his whole career.

He wouldn't be worth a 2nd round Nat, at best an early 3rd rounder.

Burgoyne was originally traded for Weller, and approved.

Deal is a 3rd rounder and a 4th round rookie as well.

Burgoyne has one year left and dpp status is very 50/50.

It's a reasonable trade.

PB, get off FF and go revise for Spec...

Jroo

I'm with Jay
A late first round pick and a spud for one of the best mids in the comp  :o
And Burgoyne is surely worth a little more than that.

BB gets the final say on these trades though, right?

Nige

Since when is a late first round pick a bad thing? It gives me two picks in the first round, nothing wrong with that. Everybody knows by now the top 20 or so in the year's draft are really good. I'm likely to pick up a player who could be as good as Lewis. Also not sure how Woodward is a spud... but okay.

Rusty00

Burgoyne is probably worth more than that, but no-one will pay any more. It's painfully obvious that no-one will pay near the worth for over 30 players in the XV Comps, particularly a player who only has 1 year left.

For what it's worth, I think Burgoyne will keep DPP next year.

Lewis averages 140, odd which makes him an elite mid. Worth may more than pick 12 and Woodward.

I would've given wayyyy more, but was too late.

I have deals to ponder, I made sure I was ready for Spec by actually learning throughout the year :) Priorities Jay, the deadline is this Saturday ;)

Thank you, glad somebody else sees it the way Rico and I do.

If people are so up in arms about my trades for these two, why not make better offers?

Averages 140 based on one season, an anomaly in his record to date. Probably worth realising that history counts for something and also the probability that he's unlikely to repeat his efforts from this season.

If that's the case, how come I never received an offer from you? You've been on a fair bit and you're always very quick to send and respond to PMs, plus you know I'm always around. It's not like I just advertised their availability either, been saying it for nearly a week.

This I can 100% agree with. We got flower all for most of our players and then sometimes after we have traded them, some people said they were worth more or they would have payed more. Yet they didn't come to offer the first time. If no one is going to offer a better deal, not much the person with the player can do.

I don't care I didn't get Lewis, I didn't even know he was on the table, lol.

I genuinely feel that he's worth much more than that, got nothing do with me missing out on him.

As long as you've advertised the players are available.

You can't use that argument if you were sitting waiting for deals to flock in when people might have thought there's no way on earth you'd trade that guy.

I don't want to go back to the Hibberd one but using it as an example - I would never have thought to ask about him because he was clearly invaluable to the Eskimos imo as their #1 def but apparently not...

To me the below quote implied you did care.

I posted about his availability on Monday, but said as soon as I took over that everyone was available for the right price.

As far as his worth is concerned, I presuming your opinion is based on simply this past season and nothing more, because imo, if it's based on anything more, than I don't think you'd be valuing him so highly.

Based mainly on this year, yes. But he has shown he's been a good consistent scorer in the past, I think he went at 125 or so last year. I think he'll maintain for the next few years, as well.

Lez was asking for Birchall, Robbo and Higgins for Lewis, when he was coach. Now he's not worth that much, but just think you could have got more.
