LAMBS trade: H.Crozier
HEADHUNTERS trade: A.Mullett

Rusty to confirm :)
Confirmed. Think Crozier is about to step up his consistency and willing to give up Mullett as Lambs need some defensive depth.

APPROVED

Reasoning: Forward for a defender, both with similar averages and similar ages. Easy enough to pass.

Trade Period One:

Bears give: N64
Elephants give: N40

Trade Period Two:

Bears give: Shane Edwards + Jed Adcock + Nicholas Kommer
Elephants give: Jack Watts + Jonathon Patton + Jesse White

Reason: Again just looking to bring in a bit more youth. Broken down, Watts and Edwards are similar, Watts is two years younger and probably has a bit more potential but you know what you're going to get with Titch. Patton is a huge risk after doing his knee again, but we need some young forwards desperately so taking a punt and giving up a proven scorer in Adcock for him. Kommer is the sweetener to even up the age difference and White is just there to make the deal a 1 for 1 in the second trade period so it can go through.

Nige to confirm.
Confirmed.

Ads basically covered his end. Titch and Watts are similar, so a swap there isn't a big deal. Bringing in Adcock means I get that solid scoring defender that I was after to sure up the back line and he's still got several years left in him. We've got plenty of young forwards, so even though Patton should be a gun in the future, his loss doesn't leave a gaping hole. I really like Kommer, he scored well in his first season and is best 22 (was injured this year), whereas Jesse White is hot and cold, and as Ads said, is making up the numbers. Pick swap just evens out the deal again.

APPROVED

Reasoning: The coaches' reasoning here is quite good. Watts and Edwards are quite similar. Patton has a lot of potential, but also a lot of injury worries, while Adcock is a proven, but old scorer. White and Kommer are also fairly even, and the pick swap makes it all a bit more fair for both teams.

UAE Tigers give: Richard Douglas, Troy Menzel
Tibetan Llamas give: David Mundy, Jake Neade, Pick 35

Since I'm out of movements in period 1 it'll go like this:

Trade period 1
UAE Tigers give:
Tibetan Llamas give: Pick 35

Trade period 2
UAE Tigers give: Richard Douglas, Troy Menzel
Tibetan Llamas give: David Mundy, Jake Neade

Looking for a mid who can start and I think Mundy is a bit better than Douglas. Sad to see Menzel go, as he was one of my favourites, but I've got plenty of forwards to cover his loss.

Tbag to confirm.
Sure we don't get the forward we wanted but this kid is a bit of a freak. DOuchie Douglas just keeps on getting better and matches Mundy for score I believe, giving not a huge amount to get these two players

OOps :P
Confirm

APPROVED

Reasoning: Mundy is a better player than Douglas by a little. The potential and performance of Menzel also make him outweigh Neade and the Pick a little. Maybe a little uneven, but not terribly so.

Vietnam Vipers Give - Patrick Karnezis
PNG Head Hunters Give - Lee Spurr

Karnezis could go boom next year, but I am in need of defenders, Spurr is a best 22 player with a good if not spectacular average
Confirmed.

Taking a punt on Karnezis getting some game time and scoring well at the Pies. Spurr is solid but not in our future plans.

BLOCKED

Reasoning: Karnezis has spent a year at the Pies now and still not seen a game, and his previous scoring in AFL doesn't show that he will be anything special. Spurr played all 22 games this year, averaged 90.68, and is a defender, which increases his weight by a bit in this competition. I don't see trading a 90 average defender for a man who has played 3 games in the last 2 years, and is still mostly an unknown as even enough to pass.

Also just a reminder that the McGovern/Hibberd trade will go through, it too just needs to be processed.

I think I have caught up with all trades now. I if I haven't, please let me know!

i am not overly fussed on the blocked trade, but maybe if you think a trade may be weighted in one teams favour and then look to see that team sits dead last, 3 games behind 2nd last on the ladder you could let it pass.... 8)

Ricochet

KL Crocs give: N47 + R63
Laos Elephants give: Burgoyne

Reason: Bit harder to judge Burgoyne's value with only a year left and we're not 100% on his dpp status next year. But hopefully he can add some further depth for us in 2015. Feel that a 3rd round Nat and 4th round Rook is about right

Nige to confirm

Confirmed.

Personally reckon Burgoyne will lose DPP and with our mids, he's surplus to requirements. As Rico said, his value is tough to judge, which is probably why nobody was overly interested, but we discussed it and reckon we've worked out a pretty fair trade.

Nige

Elephants give: Jordan Lewis
Ales gives: N12 + Alex Woodward

Reason: Even though Lewis was our VC option, we've got plenty of guys to take over that role and with our mid stocks we could afford to trade him out for some quality youth. I'm a huge Woodward fan and the Hawks too rate him highly, he dominated in the VFL taking home the Liston at just 21 (their Brownlow) and should definitely be getting more games in the next year plus is a good option for the future. With N12, we get a second first round pick and should almost certainly pick up a kid that will be really good and add to our well balanced team.

JB to confirm.

Confirmed. Need to add some firepower to our midfield to help us compete with the top teams.

Say it.  :o ??? :P
N47 and R63 are rubbish. Burgoyne is old out still puts up good scores.

And Lewis is a proven premium.. NAT 12 and a kid who has never played for a proven premium is crazy.

There, I said it :P

Think will need to be a period 2 trade of the players too.

Well, I was always going to trade Burgoyne and Lewis, I made that clear from the day I became coach.

Didn't get a single offer other than Rico's for Burgoyne which is probably indicative of his value and how people rate him. As you said, he's old and still puts up good scores, but at the same time. He's entering what is probably going to be his last season and is surplus to my requirements so why not trade him for a pick I'll use (after trading N40 to Ads) and another pick to make it more passable (Rico didn't have any other picks that would be right for the deal)?

On the Lewis front, I tabled Lewis and again got minimal interest. He's come off a very good year and I personally believe his market value is as high as it will be. There is this general thing in XVs that age is a bad thing and he'll be 30 soon which is going to decrease him value even though I reckon he's got 4 or 5 years left in him. In return, I'm getting a kid that should be good but there is no guarantee with draft picks as we know, they're always a gamble but generally come off, especially if the person using it knows their stuff (which I believe I do) plus Woodward, although only playing two games to date (where he scored 10 and 94), dominated in the VFL, won their Brownlow equivalent despite missing several games and is rated quite highly internally from all reports.

I acknowledge the fact that I could be losing both deals but I'm willing to take those risks given the state of my list.
