Yeah get that mate.

Was more hoping that the DPP wasnt used in negotiations for the trade is all as I think it is pretty irrelevant.
Yep, pretty sure I didn't even mention it to BB, so isn't really relevant to the trade.

We're still not sure what's happening about a committee or whatever, so I guess we have to wait and see what happens.

Agreed. The trade will go through its due process and a result passed down. All parties will get a chance to present their thoughts and arguments at the appropriate time.

Best of luck with it.

Well it wouldn't be the AXV without a contentious trade each week. :P

I've got all the votes from coaches now for our new trade approval process. I'll tally them together and see what we come up with. And I'm sure that this trade will be going to a vote. I'll put my reasoning up later for it.

And in case you missed it from the other thread, we have some new coaches! Nige, nrich and PB were able to come to an agreement between themselves about who would get which team, and were the only 3 applicants, so no vote was required. The new coaches are:

Hong Kong Dongs - nrich102
Kathmandu Eskimos - Powerbug
Laos Elephants - Nige

Trade Period One:

Bears give: N64
Elephants give: N40

Trade Period Two:

Bears give: Shane Edwards + Jed Adcock + Nicholas Kommer
Elephants give: Jack Watts + Jonathon Patton + Jesse White

Reason: Again just looking to bring in a bit more youth. Broken down, Watts and Edwards are similar, Watts is two years younger and probably has a bit more potential but you know what you're going to get with Titch. Patton is a huge risk after doing his knee again, and we won't see him until late 2015/2016 but we need some young forwards desperately so taking a punt and giving up a proven scorer in Adcock for him. Kommer is the sweetener to even up the age difference and White is just there to make the deal a 1 for 1 in the second trade period so it can go through.

Nige to confirm.

Confirmed.

Ads basically covered his end. Titch and Watts are similar, so a swap there isn't a big deal. Bringing in Adcock means I get that solid scoring defender that I was after to sure up the back line and he's still got several years left in him. We've got plenty of young forwards, so even though Patton should be a gun in the future, his loss doesn't leave a gaping hole. I really like Kommer, he scored well in his first season and is best 22 (was injured this year), whereas Jesse White is hot and cold, and as Ads said, is making up the numbers. Pick swap just evens out the deal again.

If you have a good forward or couple of forwards you want to trade let me know.

Confirmed. Think Crozier is about to step up his consistency and willing to give up Mullett as Lambs need some defensive depth.

Define good? Average PPG?

Voting was close, but in the end Option A was voted in by the coaches. That option is:

A) Competition admin decides whether a trade is passed or blocked. That decision is final.

To this I am going to add a slight change, so that I am not confirming my own trades by myself. So the final rule will read as:

Competition admin decides whether a trade is passed or blocked. That decision is final. If a trade passes that involves the admin, and 2 or more coaches speak against it within 3 days of the decision being posted, the trade will be sent to all AXV coaches to vote on (apart from those involved with the trade), and a majority decision will be reached.

I hope that everyone can be happy with trading from now on. :)

I will go through and confirm trades now, and also re-post the ones I am involved in so that anyone with misgivings about them can have their say. I am really busy this week though, so I will not have time to process trades until the weekend.

Rusty00

The amendment is the right thing to do BB as I don't think it's fair on yourself to have adjudicate on your own trades.

As trade period currently closes this weekend and you are really busy this week, is it worth extending the period for another week to give you time to get on top of things?

Memphistopheles

Godd stuff BB.

I think I suggested similar to that amendment (or that exact one ) so I'm very happy for this. We just need that little bit of fairness around your trades, not that I think you'd accept a bad deal that would get people complaining anyway.

I'll put all my trades together in a post here. They will remain up for 3 days, before being confirmed. If 2 or more coaches speak against trades in that time, it will go to a vote from all coaches. And I already know the big one with JROO will be going to a vote.

ok might as well post an actual trade in the trade thread...

KL Crocs give: Gibbs + R47
Folders give: Malceski + Dal Santo

BB to confirm.

Losing Gibbs and bringing in two old guys was tough given he is about to hit his prime but reason is our backline is our weakest line and Malceski strengthens that. NDS adds some mid depth

Trade will have to be split over two periods.

Period 1
Crocs give: R47
Folders give: NDS

Period 2
Crocs give: BGibbs
Folders give: Malceski

We finally got this done.

The full trade is:

UAE Tigers give: Sam Gibson, Jono O'Rourke, Christian Salem, Jake Neade, Pick 44
UAE Tigers receive: Brendon Goddard, Ryan Bastinac, Will Minson, David Mackay

Manila Folders give: Brendon Goddard, Ryan Bastinac, Will Minson, Jeremy Laidler
Manila Folders receive: Sam Gibson, Jono O'Rourke, Christian Salem, Jake Neade, Pick 44

PNG HeadHunters give: David Mackay
PNG HeadHunters receive: Jeremy Laidler

It's going to work like this:

Trade period 1

UAE Tigers give: Jono O'Rourke, Pick 44
UAE Tigers receive: Brendon Goddard

Manila Folders give: Brendon Goddard
Manila Folders receive: Jono O'Rourke, Pick 44

Trade period 2

UAE Tigers give: Sam Gibson, Christian Salem, Jake Neade
UAE Tigers receive: Ryan Bastinac, Will Minson, David Mackay

Manila Folders give: Ryan Bastinac, Will Minson, Jermey Laidler
Manila Folders receive: Sam Gibson, Christian Salem, Jake Neade

PNG HeadHunters give: David Mackay
PNG HeadHunters receive: Jeremy Laidler

Reasoning: BJ increases my scoring potential, while Basti provides good mid depth. Big Wilbur provides depth to Stefan Martin, in case he can't replicate this year's form. But I have to give up some of my high quality youth in JOR and Salem. Gibson is a proven scorer and Neade has also shown promise. Also should be noted that Mackay is traded for Laidler as part of a deal that was already agreed on, as part of the Swallow + Pearce for Seedsman + Hunter deal.

Also, I only use one list movement from this (Salem).

Rusty and BB to confirm.
My (minor) part confirmed.
