I'm strongly against coaches voting on trades or having a say in whether a trade goes through or not for a couple of reasons.

Firstly, people's votes will be influenced if the player that they were chasing was involved in the trade being voted on. For example (and don't want to start anything here) when I traded in Rioli, regardless of whether it was fair or not, Noz would have negged it without a second thought as he was after Rioli himself and felt his offer was better than mine. People might also neg trades if they feel a team is getting too strong and won't be able to compete with them, again regardless of whether it was fair or not. Too many outside factors come into play here for mine.

Secondly, we will have to wait for all coaches to vote which could take a while if some people are inactive due to real life commitments etc and slow down the whole trade period. I'm not a fan of not being able to progress with other trade talks because I have to wait on someone voting on one of my trades as that particular trade going through could affect my team structure.

I don't understand why BB can't just rule on trades himself, everyone trusts him and values his opinion (same as Colli before he had to leave). Yes it was a bit odd to introduce a trade committee half way through the trade period and then scrap it, but why do we have to change the whole process because of that? shouldn't we just go back to the original method that has for the most part worked well?

Tl;dr - Not a fan of coaches voting on trades, go back to the original method.

+1, think I'd prefer BB to have the final say. It's not like he doesn't know what he's doing. The only real problem is when he has to rule on his own trades.

UAE Tigers give: Richard Douglas, Troy Menzel
Tibetan Llamas give: David Mundy, Jake Neade, Pick 35

Since I'm out of movements in period 1 it'll go like this:

Trade period 1
UAE Tigers give:
Tibetan Llamas give: Pick 35

Trade period 2
UAE Tigers give: Richard Douglas, Troy Menzel
Tibetan Llamas give: David Mundy, Jake Neade

Looking for a mid who can start and I think Mundy is a bit better than Douglas. Sad to see Menzel go, as he was one of my favourites, but I've got plenty of forwards to cover his loss.

Tbag to confirm.

Sure we don't get the forward we wanted but this kid is a bit of a freak. DOuchie Douglas just keeps on getting better and matches Mundy for score I believe, giving not a huge amount to get these two players

OOps :P

So I've just sent out the vote on what will be happening with our trade approval system.

I'll wait until we get the results on that before I make any further rulings on trades.

We are still waiting on a few coaches to vote on the trade process, then I can get around to approving trades.

Just a reminder that this time next week, the trade period closes. Any movements not used in this trade period cannot be used in the next period. So make sure you get your trades in soon! Drafting will be soon after that, once the AFL Draft has been held.

De-listings are also due in 2 weeks time, so make sure you also have one eye on your list management!

We finally got this done.

The full trade is:

UAE Tigers give: Sam Gibson, Jono O'Rourke, Christian Salem, Jake Neade, Pick 44
UAE Tigers receive: Brendon Goddard, Ryan Bastinac, Will Minson, David Mackay

Manila Folders give: Brendon Goddard, Ryan Bastinac, Will Minson, Jeremy Laidler
Manila Folders receive: Sam Gibson, Jono O'Rourke, Christian Salem, Jake Neade, Pick 44

PNG HeadHunters give: David Mackay
PNG HeadHunters receive: Jeremy Laidler

It's going to work like this:

Trade period 1

UAE Tigers give: Jono O'Rourke, Pick 44
UAE Tigers receive: Brendon Goddard

Manila Folders give: Brendon Goddard
Manila Folders receive: Jono O'Rourke, Pick 44

Trade period 2

UAE Tigers give: Sam Gibson, Christian Salem, Jake Neade
UAE Tigers receive: Ryan Bastinac, Will Minson, David Mackay

Manila Folders give: Ryan Bastinac, Will Minson, Jermey Laidler
Manila Folders receive: Sam Gibson, Christian Salem, Jake Neade

PNG HeadHunters give: David Mackay
PNG HeadHunters receive: Jeremy Laidler

Reasoning: BJ increases my scoring potential, while Basti provides good mid depth. Big Wilbur provides depth to Stefan Martin, in case he can't replicate this year's form. But I have to give up some of my high quality youth in JOR and Salem. Gibson is a proven scorer and Neade has also shown promise. Also should be noted that Mackay is traded for Laidler as part of a deal that was already agreed on, as part of the Swallow + Pearce for Seedsman + Hunter deal.

Also, I only use one list movement from this (Salem).

Rusty and BB to confirm.

Yea surely this trade needs to goto some kind of committee. Thats ridicolous UAE give a bunch of spuds and get guns in return.

That has to be close to the worlds trade of Sidebottom as the worst i have seen.

Gibson averages 126 (2 points less than BJ)
JOR was a pick 2.
Salem was a pick 9.
Neade has shown signs he can score ok.

Apart from BJ, not really getting guns, haha.

Also, should be noted that PNG's part of the trade was part of the Swallow and Seedsman deal (where Rusty was the CLEAR winner).

I'm happy for it to go to a committee or whatever, if that's what BB decides.

JBs-Hawks

BJ will be a fwd next year.

JOR was pick 2 but hasnt shown anything at all. Also wasnt the biggest accumulator at junior level.

Salem has shown what?

Neade shown he is a scorer? When?

BJ gun

Basti gun, one poor year.

Will gun

Laidler/Mackay, still better then Neade.

Lol, why would BJ be a fwd, because you said so?  ::)

Clearly you're not looking at the trade fully.

Manila are clearly rebuilding and are looking for good youth. They already have Lobbe, no need for Minson.

Not sure how Willo is a gun, rucks are shower in this game anyway.
And how is Basti a gun, haha.
Mackay isn't worth much at all. Neade + 44 easily equals him. And as I said was part of a previous deal.
