Memphistopheles

Holy shower what a a showerfight.

The decision has been made - let's live with it and move on.

If one team benefits or goes up o down because of it then so what? It's not your team - if the Eskimos drop off then that leaves another spot for one of the bottom 8 to move up the ladder.

I just don't get why the Eskimoes are so happy with this deal.. Do people not understand that good forwards in this comp are a dime a dozen? Elite premium defenders that are young should only be getting sold for a massive haul.

If I knew Hibberd was available I certainly would have offered someone better than McGovern, but I was under the impression he was "untouchable".

UNTOUCHABLE: (Not available for trade no way no how)
Michael Hibberd

Also did I see that Koop thinks the Cotchin trade was a win? Its still one of the all-time worst. Sure Polec had a nice year but it still wasn't as good as Cotchin in a down year. Lumumba is worth very little.

By the way, the Elephants have a much better list than the Eskimoes. Not sure how its relevant but saw it was being discussed :P

Couldn't even get a deal done for somebody like Casboult, no idea how we would have got a deal done for Hibberd.

Those lists mean nothing anyway, people still seem to ask/enquire about 'untouchable' players regardless (in all comps).

Ever tried keeping these pages long discussions in the discussions threads? This thread is for official trades only, kindle discuss in the trade discussion thread ty
For a start, this. This is a trade thread, we have a discussion thread open for a reason, please try to keep to this trades if possible.

And secondly, we have a decision from the trade committee, and that is what we have to abide by for now. At the end of the day the coaches involved in the trade think it's fair, even if others don't and we will see what comes of it in time to come.

And as for the committee, I believe most coaches are in favour of it. Perhaps it should have been voted on, but in my opinion it only adds transparency and fairness to the competition. I can imagine that I would receive more backlash for some decisions if the committee was not there, and I believe it is important to have more than just one member, who is also a coach of the competition, with the ability to rule on trades.

There would be no backlash if it wasn't referred to the match committee ::)

Ok I haven't really said anything on this but feel like I have to weigh in.

Personally I don't rate the deal and think Hibberd could have attracted more value. But i didn't think it was worth complaining about. Don't understand how Noz and my deal fell through though based on this, seems a bit odd.

Because it was too even and benefited both teams.

Ricochet

ok might as well post an actual trade in the trade thread...

KL Crocs give: Gibbs + R47
Folders give: Malceski + Dal Santo

BB to confirm.

Losing Gibbs and bringing in two old guys was tough given he is about to hit his prime but reason is our backline is our weakest line and Malceski strengthens that. NDS adds some mid depth

Trade will have to be split over two periods.

Period 1
Crocs give: R47
Folders give: NDS

Period 2
Crocs give: BGibbs
Folders give: Malceski

Noz

Jroo

Nice work by BB to get Gibbs!
Eski and NDS (if he gets DPP) really help the Croc's backline, so it's a win-win.

Last thing, reading through the discussion thread after work last night. Lez DID NOT offer 8 + 13. Firstly he didnt have 13. Secondly it was 8 + a pick of his second string players. Best one being White. No way with the midfield I have was I going to do that. Jroos offer I was going to take but he pulled out because he offered Iit without having tge required movements. Lets move on.

Haha, typical Lez.

Yep sorry about that, but I did have the movements, it was just as I was looking at doing another trade which is much more important to my team and wasn't sure if I would have the required movements after that trade (turns out I will, now  ::))

Typical Koop. Got proof I sent it to Nige, but you were walk about so I didn't know you were around.oh yeah I got pick 13 from Nails ::) classic Koop ignorance

Wow Luke, I'm impressed and you inability to even quote properly with the actual words right in front of you.

Clearly says "I can't afford to give up our best forward and defender", that implies I wasn't about to sell both.

Then look at the quote and it clearly says Hibberd or Breust.

Ricochet

Yeh quite clear it was 8 + 13 for one of those boys
