Well I don't know who Toby is and future gun is speculation. I don't mind teams ruining their teams tbh

Granted, a speculative pick-up he is, but there's solid reasoning and team structure needs behind it. But "ruining" our team?? ........really??.......that's just a ludicrous statement

Trading premiums for blokes who haven't played a game

Broughton is 28. While he is very handy as a back and is perfect for Toga in regards to adding to his depth, he has now been passed by guys like McGovern and Docherty within our backs, and we traded in Luke McDonald. We are very thin in the rucks. Nankervis was touted as the best ruck in the draft last year. He also went to a club that doesn't have a clear number 1 ruck entering 2015. He was named emergency quite a few times in 2014.

I think it is a very clear win win trade especially now that Giles appears to be going to Windy Hill. We won't know who wins this trade until prob 2016/2017 but by then, Broughton will be near the end while Nankervis will be entering his prime.

Time will tell but I definitely wouldn't consider Broughton a premium back.

Seriously?? you wrecked what was looking like a good argument with that one. While I agree with the trade as it stands myself.

Mike Pyke is 30. Age could very well see guys like Naismith and Nankervis get games in 2015. Derickx also went well this year.

I am not sure who is the number 1 at the Swans for 2015. None of my Swans mates know either tbh.

SydneyRox

ok, not having a go. Mike Pyke is the clear number 1.

Nank and Naismith are both behind Derrickx in the pecking order, and with the Swans structure Kurt Tippett and Sam Reid played the 2nd ruck role more than either of them.

Dont worry about age. Half the #1 rucks in the league at 29+

Hence why I previously said we wont know the outcome of this trade till 2016/2017.

Sam Naismith also got a game round 23 this year. We are not concerned about the 29+ rucks as we have a very clear age demographic at the Crabs.  Nankervis matches this perfectly for us and if we get lucky, we will reap the benefits in 3 years time. Time will tell.

Educate yourself son.
Well if they have played zero games and never looked to playing and didn't notice him in the NEAFL GF then I have my right to say I have not heard of the player. I do admit, I am behind on the talent these days, but as I just stated haven't heard of him being close to a debut and wasn't that high of a draft pick to be deemed a gun over the 34 players drafted before him. So on logic, there will be 34 guns before old Toby.

Was named in the emgs for the Swans several times and did really well in the NEAFL all year, probably unlucky not to debut throughout the year.

Any SANFL/WAFL/VFL player can do extremely well in the NEAFL :P

Finally get a trade on the board!

Kathmandu give: Michael Hibberd + Pick 25

Bangkok give: Jeremy McGovern + Pick 13

Reasoning: Both myself and my assistant rate McGovern very highly and will slot into the F4 spot to replace the delisted Aaron Edwards to give us a desperately needed forward line boost. The Crabs were chasing a defensive premium and the picks even it out, and enable us to chase a very good player with a 9 + 13 package.

Nost/Vlossy to confirm.

Not having a go at you Koop, it isn't a bad trade, but not sure why you'd trade the #1 defender (IMO) in the game for an F4?Wouldn't you need defenders more?
