Vinny

If it has happened like this without issue in the past, imo opinion it isn't fair to change it now.

I could throw someone like Jesse White in to make it satisfying for you Jayman?

Or Redden can be traded period one? I dunno.
Yeah that would be fine  :P

Instead of pick 40 and only if it's a problem that Jayman has brought up.

Haha nah doesn't affect me. Just a bit unusual that trading a pick for nothing is allowed ;)

Not trying to be a pain, but that probably should be negged. Because you guys dont have enough list movements to pull it off this trade period, its counted as 2 seperate trades. And you cant just trade a pick for nothing in return ::) thats just cheating the system imo.
Lol are you serious, that's how it has worked the previous two years?
I always thought that both deals had to be approved if they were being stretched over 2 periods...
No, the way we've always had it work in the AXV is that you can stretch a trade across 2 periods and it will be approved/disapproved as one trade. It happened quite a lot with last year's trading. The only thing that needs to happen is that all movements in the second period need to be one for one.

Oh so that trade won't work?

So no, the trade will not work as it stands.

Alright, time to have a look at this trade.

UAE Tigers give: David Armitage, Toby Greene, Robbie Gray, Chris Yarran, Brodie Martin + Picks 12ND, 28ND.
UAE Tigers get: Nathan Jones, David Zaharakis, Grant Birchall, Luke Hodge, Jono O'Rourke, Travis Cloke

Reasoning: I see the Tigers losing out slightly here, losing Gray is quite a blow, as is Greene, and the other players and picks they are giving up are also quality. They are getting a lot of proven scorers and a young talent in JOR in, so this section of the trade isn't too unbalanced to disallow.

Australian Ales give: Nathan Jones, David Zaharakis, Grant Birchall, Luke Hodge + Pick 7ND
Australian Ales get: David Armitage, Toby Greene, Robbie Gray, Jack Newnes + Pick 12ND

Reasoning: This is the real contentious section of the trade. This is how I see it:
Jones > Armitage
Zaharakis < Greene
Birchall < Gray
Hodge > Newnes
Pick 7 > Pick 12 (obviously)
Now the Ales are quite clearly winners here, in my view. However, I don't feel they are winners enough to mean this trade can't go through. I can explain this section in further detail if anyone has any problems with the ruling.

Vietnam Vipers give: Jack Newnes, Jono O'Rourke + Pick 17ND
Vietnam Vipers get: Chris Yarran + Picks 7ND, 28ND

Reasoning: Give up two quality kids in Newnes (who already averages 100), and JOR (who has a load of potential), as well as a pick and gets what they need in a forward and some draft picks which will help with their rebuild.

Manila Folders give: Travis Cloke
Manila Folders get: Brodie Martin + Pick 17ND

Reasoning: Giving up a premium in Cloke to get an up and coming player in Martin and a draft pick to balance things out.

Please note all of these trades will be completed in trade period one apart from Travis Cloke who will be traded to the Tigers in trade period 2.

So, after much thought and deliberation with myself, and believe me I have been thinking about this one for a while, this trade is APPROVED

JBs-Hawks

Welcome aboard Toby and Robbie, oh and the other two.

After years of trying to get a deal done Lez, I have finally done it :o

UAE Tigers give Jarrod Harbrow, Shaun Higgins, Mitch Robinson
Laos Elephants give Jack Redden + Pick 40ND

Reasoning: I need mids and I've got plenty of defenders so don't mind giving up Harbrow and Higgins. Who knows where Robbo will end up. The pick helps even it out.

Since, I'm out of movements in period one, it'll work like this:

Trade Period 1
UAE Tigers give
Laos Elephants give Pick 40ND

Trade Period 2
UAE Tigers give Jarrod Harbrow, Shaun Higgins, Mitch Robinson
Laos Elephants give Jack Redden

Lez to confirm.
Just repeating that this trade needs to be re-worked so that all movements in the second period are 1 for 1 before it can be taken any further. :)

Ok well this could be a controversial one but we have decided to accept the Bears offer for Cyril Rioli over some other good offers.

Thanks to everyone who submitted an offer for Rioli and sorry to those whose offer I didn't accept. You might have a few issues with me accepting this one but I have my reasons which are outlined below.

Bears give: Dean Kent + Mason Wood + Nat 16.
Dolphins give: Cyril Rioli.

Adamant to confirm.

Justification as follows.

A lot of people don't rate Dean Kent but in my opinion as a goalkicking midfielder (who I think is very likely to get mid/fwd next season) he is very suited to this scoring system. Case in point is his Sportsbet average is 73.15 compared with his DT average of 52.6.

The main selling point for me on Kent is that he appears to have cemented a spot in the Demons best 22 now having played every game from Rounds 13-23. He adds that element of pacey, outside run to the Demons side which they don't have a lot of (looks like he has replaced Blease in the side). From what I've seen of him this season I liken him to Isaac Smith who broke out this year and averaged 125. I'm not saying Kent will reach those heights next season but in another 2-3 I can see him getting there.

Mason Wood, although yet to get a game has been carving up the VFL for North Melbourne's reserves, booting 29 goals from 18 games including three bags of 4 and three bags of 3. Also in his only game for North this year he booted three goals and scored 97 points. I'm confident that when Petrie retires, or if Black continues to struggle, Wood will take over and cement a spot in the Roos side as second/third (maybe even first) tall forward.

The addition of Nat 16 also means the Dolphins now have 4 picks in the Top 20 which will help us build our team for the future and continue to improve our depth which is the main weakness I identified when Ablett was traded/ the end of last season.

Also in this deal I am not giving up any other players whereas in the other deals I was also offloading another starting XV player like Rosa/Sutcliffe/Varcoe so our team improves its depth.

I feel sorry for memph. You were given a horrible list, but then you have been reading your best players....

Noz

Well obviously I am away for one day and you just accept another trade

I suppose anyway that Kent + Wood + pick 16 is a lot better than Viney + pick 6
