Welcome everyone to the Official AXV Trade Thread for the 2014/15 off-season!

CHAT CLIENT TO USE FOR FF MEMBERS DURING TRADE WINDOWS TO DISCUSS TRADES:
http://www.ffelitechat.webs.com/

TRADING

There will be two trade periods in each season.

Post Season.

AN AGREED TIME AFTER COMPLETION OF THE SEASON BEFORE THE NATIONAL DRAFT OF THE FOLLOWING SEASON
(Likely to open early in next week and close sometime before November 27)

MAXIMUM NUMBER OF LIST CHANGES = 5
(This means 5 IN and 5 OUT changes like last season's trading. Please ask for more clarification on this aspect.)

A list movement is counted as a change to your list as it was pre trading. player for pick counts, pick for player counts, pick for pick does not.

Trades may be uneven in this trade window in regards to how many picks and players are swapped.

A team may trade a player and a draft pick swap for a player and a draft pick swap

( e.g Boyd and pick 14 for Swallow and pick 2)

Pre Season.

AN AGREED TIME AFTER THE PRESEASON/ROOKIE DRAFT PRIOR TO THE START OF THE SEASON
(Dates to be confirmed.)

MAXIMUM NUMBER OF LIST CHANGES = 5

A team must trade the same number of players in and out i.e 1 for 1 , 2 for 2.... ect. ect... in this trade window.

*IMPORTANT NOTES ON LIST MANAGEMENTS DURING TRADES*

* You may trade a rookie listed player for another teams senior listed player, or visa versa. BUT

- The player you trade in MUST go onto the same list that the player you traded out was on (senior or rookie)

TRADE BLOCKING / APPROVAL:

ALL TRADES ARE TO BE SUBMITTED TO LEAGUE ADMINISTRATOR FOR APPROVAL IN APPROPRIATE TRADE THREAD (THIS THREAD).

LIST MANAGEMENT:

You have a Senior List (capped at 40 players) and a Rookie List (capped at 6 players).

The INITIAL DRAFT of 36 players.

The NATIONAL DRAFT of 4 players.

The PRESEASON/ROOKIE DRAFT of 6 players.

* In the following seasons, players you have on your rookie list can be promoted permanently to your senior list by using a draft pick in the NATIONAL DRAFT. They can also be delisted.

* In the following seasons players you draft in the NATIONAL DRAFT can be added to your senior list only. This will mean you have to DELIST players who are on your senior list, to make room for the new players.

*In the following seasons players you draft in the PRESEASON/ROOKIE DRAFT can only be added to your rookie list if from the AFL rookie draft, but can be added to EITHER list if from a remaining player pool or from the afl preseason draft. This will mean you have to DELIST players who are on your senior and or rookie list, to make room for the new players.

DRAFTS

2. THE NATIONAL DRAFT: This draft will be 5 rounds of selections from the players taken in the 2014 AFL National Draft.

* The National draft order will be performed in reverse order from the INITIAL DRAFT (this pre-season).

* The draft will repeat.

* You will forfeit your draft pick if you have not picked within 24 hrs of the preceding pick or within 2 hrs of being on line following preceding pick.  Should this situation occur you may take you pick at any time following from players still available.

* In the following seasons the team finishing Last will recieve pick 1 and the team finishing 1st last pick and the draft will repeat.

**NOTE**  Teams may choose to PASS at any time any number of times during the National Draft. ( Most likely reason for this is to prefer to take a player from the left over players from the Initial draft which will be available in the rookie/preseason draft along with AFL drafted players in the AFL rookie/preseason drafts.)

When a team chooses to PASS in the National Draft, they will receive that pick at the same number/position in the preseason/rookie draft.

3. PRESEASON/ROOKIE DRAFT: The preseason/rookie draft will be 5 rounds of selections from the players taken in the 2014 AFL Pre Season and Rookie drafts & leftover players from previous seasons.

* The preseason/rookie draft order will be the same as the National draft order, ALWAYS and will repeat.

* You will forfeit your draft pick if you have not picked within 24 hrs of the preceding pick or within 2 hrs of being on line following preceding pick.  Should this situation occur you may take you pick at any time following from players still available.

#3
TRADES - TRADE WINDOW #1

*TRADES ARE TO BE POSTED IN THE FOLLOWING FORMAT:*

Folders give: abc + abc
Bears give: abc + abc

TRADE #1: APPROVED
KL gives: Josh Caddy + NAT #15 + Dean Towers + NAT #31
Taiwan gives: Harley Bennell + NAT #34
Reasoning: Bennell has proved he is a star of the competition, and his worth is close enough to Caddy + Pick 15 + Towers, and the pick swap.

TRADE #2: APPROVED
KL gives: Claye Beams + Dylan Buckley + NAT #34
Manila gives: Chris Mayne + NAT #68
Reasoning: The Folders are looking to go through a re-build this off-season and Beams and Buckley fit the bill for what we are looking for. The pick upgrade balances out the trade as we are giving up a proven performer in Mayne.

TRADE #3: APPROVED
Sri Lanka gives: Josh J. Kennedy
Laos gives: Scott Selwood
Reasoning: Both are quality premium players, fairly easy trade.

TRADE #4: APPROVED - Note: Part of Trade #1 in second trade period

UAE Tigers give: David Armitage, Toby Greene, Robbie Gray, Chris Yarran + Picks 12ND, 28ND.
UAE Tigers get: Nathan Jones, David Zaharakis, Grant Birchall, Luke Hodge, Jono O'Rourke

Reasoning: I see the Tigers losing out slightly here, losing Gray is quite a blow, as is Greene, and the other players and picks they are giving up are also quality. They are getting a lot of proven scorers and a young talent in JOR in, so this section of the trade isn't too unbalanced to disallow.

Australian Ales give: Nathan Jones, David Zaharakis, Grant Birchall, Luke Hodge + Pick 7ND
Australian Ales get: David Armitage, Toby Greene, Robbie Gray, Jack Newnes + Pick 12ND

Reasoning: This is the real contentious section of the trade. This is how I see it:
Jones > Armitage
Zaharakis < Greene
Birchall < Gray
Hodge > Newnes
Pick 7 > Pick 12 (obviously)
Now the Ales are quite clearly winners here, in my view. However, I don't feel they are winners enough to mean this trade can't go through. I can explain this section in further detail if anyone has any problems with the ruling.

Vietnam Vipers give: Jack Newnes, Jono O'Rourke + Pick 17ND
Vietnam Vipers get: Chris Yarran + Picks 7ND, 28ND

Reasoning: Give up two quality kids in Newnes (who already averages 100), and JOR (who has a load of potential), as well as a pick and gets what they need in a forward and some draft picks which will help with their rebuild.

Manila Folders give:
Manila Folders get: NAT Pick 17

Reasoning: Giving up a premium in Cloke to get an up and coming player in Martin and a draft pick to balance things out.

TRADE #5: APPROVED
Bears give: Dean Kent + Mason Wood + Nat 16.
Dolphins give: Cyril Rioli
Reasoning: A gun is given up in Rioli, although he has had injury troubles recently, which lowers his currency. Kent and Wood both have a lot of potential, and pick 16 balances things out a bit more.

TRADE #6: APPROVED - Part of Trade #2 in second trade period
Crocs give: Jamie Cripps
Dolphins give: Matt Rosa
Reasoning: Fairly even trade here. Cripps and Rosa is to help teams out with positional changes, and the swap of Patfull and Graham makes things a bit more even.

TRADE #7: APPROVED
Elephants give: Jack Redden
Dongs give: Jarryd Roughead + NAT Pick 13
Reasoning: Redden is one of the top scorers in the competition, with his tackling ability worth a lot. Roughead had a great year, but still averaged quite a bit less than Redden, so the pick evens things out nicely.

TRADE #8: APPROVED
Elephants give: Mav Weller
Head Hunters give: Shaun Burgoyne
Reasoning: Fairly straightforward trade. Burgoyne is a much better scorer at this stage, but also much older, and a chance to lose his defender status. Weller has a bright future ahead.

TRADE #9: APPROVED
Elephants give: Anthony Miles + NAT #13
Crabs give: Dion Prestia
Reasoning: Prestia proved himself a star of the competition this year, with a 130 average, and tackles plenty which adds to his scoring capabilities. He has ranked 14th in the competition for this scoring method this year.
Miles meanwhile had a good year, but still has only played 12 games, so it is unknown if he will continue this strong output, or if he can reach the scoring heights of Prestia. Pick 13 balances this trade nicely.

TRADE #10: APPROVED
Australia give: Tom Bugg
Mongolia give: Rory Lobb
Reasoning: Lobb was pick 22 in the AXV Draft last season, and after only a year, he has shown some promising signs, without setting the world on fire. Bugg, who only averages low 80s, is a fair swap.

TRADE #11: APPROVED
Bears give: M. Thomas + M. Rischitelli + M. Jamar + NAT #48
Dongs give: J. Grimes + NAT #29
Reasoning: This trade just gets through. Jamar + Pick 48 = Pick 29 more or less. Thomas and Rischitelli are quite a bit to give up for Grimes, but they are both older than Grimes, and do not look to have the same scoring potential of Grimes, who could become a top defender if he can get over his injury worries. Also, he is a defender, and this seems to be the hardest position to find quality players.

TRADE #12: APPROVED - Part of Trade #3 in second trade period
KL give: ROOKIE #15
Turkey give: NAT #38
Reasoning: Thomas has a very bright future and Taylor is a consistent fantasy scorer at this stage of his career, without being a full premium. The pick balances it out.

TRADE #13: APPROVED
KL give: NAT #68 + NAT #79
Bangkok give: NAT #43
Reasoning: Easy one to let through, a swap of picks to benefit both teams.

TRADE #14: APPROVED BY COMMITTEE - Part of Trade #4 in second trade period
Manila give:
UAE give: Rohan Bail
Results: This trade passed 2-1. It was the overall view of the committee that Henderson and Bail were both quality players, with Henderson being below standard due to injury, and Swan only having at most 2 years left in the AFL, and having a reduction in his previous scoring output.

TRADE #15: BLOCKED BY COMMITTEE
Mongolia give: S.Johnson + H.Ballantyne + A.Young
Turkey give: B.Ellis + NAT Pick #38
Results: This trade was blocked 3-0. It was the view of the committee that Mongolia was giving up far too much in this trade, and while Ellis has potential to be a good scorer for many years, the value of Johnson and Ballantyne, as well as Young was too much to give up.

TRADE #16: APPROVED - Part of Trade #5 in second trade period
Ales give: NAT #23
Crabs give:
Reasoning: Aish and McDonald are both promising youngsters, with Aish worth a bit more. Pick 23 and Richards for Davis evens it out.

TRADE #17: APPROVED
Crabs give: NAT #27
Dolphins give: Ryan Lester
Reasoning:Lester was a strong scorer in the games that he played this year, and should continue to improve, given he gets game time. Worth close enough to Pick 27.

TRADE #18: APPROVED
Llamas give: Patrick Dangerfield
Gazelles give: Jack Viney + David Mundy + James Battersby + NAT #6
Reasoning: Dangerfield had a poor year by his standards, but was still one of the top averaging forwards, and looks like he will keep his DPP status. He is still young and will be a star for the better part of the next decade.
Viney is still young and improving, and looks as though he is not a huge kick and mark player, so this scoring system won't favour him too highly. Mundy is a good scorer, but only has a few years left. Battersby is a real unknown, and Pick 6 adds a bit to the deal.
A bit of an uneven deal, but not too much to block it.

TRADE #19: APPROVED
Strikers give: Gary Rohan + NAT #46
Vipers give: Danny Stanley + NAT#65
Reasoning: Stanley is a better scorer at this stage than Rohan, who has had his injury and form troubles. Pick evens it out.

TRADE #20: APPROVED - Part of Trade #7 in second trade period
Bears give: NAT #32
Dolphins give: NAT #50
Reasoning: Sutcliffe is worth a bit more at this stage, having fully established himself in Freo's 22, and being a better scorer than Griffiths. Pick swap evens things.

TRADE #21: APPROVED
Bangkok Crabs give: Greg Broughton + Nat 23
Mongolian Lambs give: Toby Nankervis + Nat 26
Reasoning: Nankervis was Pick 26 in last year's AXV Draft, and hasn't played yet, but looks as though he will soon get an opportunity with the thin ruck stocks of the Swans. Broughton averages under 90, which is not high in this competition and certainly not a premium level, and at 28, he is entering the last few years of his career.

TRADE #22: APPROVED
Mongolian Lambs give: Hayden Crozier
PNG Head Hunters give: Aaron Mullett
Reasoning: Forward for a defender, both with similar averages and similar ages. Easy enough to pass.

TRADE #23: APPROVED - Note: Part of Trade #10 in Second Trade Period
Bears give: N64
Elephants give: N40
Reasoning: The coaches' reasoning here is quite good. Watts and Edwards are quite similar. Patton has a lot of potential, but also a lot of injury worries, while Adcock is a proven, but old scorer. White and Kommer are also fairly even, and the pick swap makes it all a bit more fair for both teams.

TRADE #24: APPROVED - Note: Part of Trade #11 in Second Trade Period
UAE Tigers give:
Tibetan Llamas give: Pick 35
Reasoning: Mundy is a better player than Douglas by a little. The potential and performance of Menzel also make him outweigh Neade and the Pick a little. Maybe a little uneven, but not terribly so.

TRADE #25: APPROVED
KL Crocs give: N47 + R63
Laos Elephants give: Burgoyne
Reasoning: Ric explained it quite well, with Burgoyne already being traded for Weller, and these picks being similar to the value of Burgoyne at this stage of his career, where he probably only has the one year left.

TRADE #26: APPROVED
Head Hunters give: Lindsay Thomas + Colin Garland
Eskimos give: Ben Lennon
Reasoning: Lennon has showed enough in his first year of football that he will be a good player, even if he hasn't been a huge scorer yet. Thomas and Garland are both older players who are good depth, but not premium and will give a few good year's service to their new club.

TRADE #27: APPROVED - Note: Part of Trade #12 in Second Trade Period
Strikers give: Ryan Schoenmakers+ Nat#62+ Rook#30
Dongs give:  Nat#77+ Rook#13
Reasoning: A fairly even trade with the picks and players swap. Johannisen is the best player there out of the three, with Hartung also being quite valuable, and Schoenmakers not worth as much.

TRADE #28: APPROVED - Note: Part of Trade #13 in Second Trade Period
Head Hunters give: NAT #53
Dolphins give: NAT #31
Reasoning: McMahon isn't worth heaps, but is still decent depth. Jack is a young kid with potential, but isn't prolific yet. The pcik swap balances it out.

TRADE #29: APPROVED - Note: Part of Trade #14 in Second Trade Period
Dongs give: Brent Stanton
Lambs give: N10 + N42 + Lynden Dunn
Reasoning: Toga gave a good breakdown of the trade, which I'll repeat here how I see it:
Stanton = N10
Montags > N43
And on averages:
Schulz = Ballantyne  {close enough on average}
Murphy = Dunn  {close enough on average}
Bartel > Colyer + Broughton + A.Young
The Dongs are bringing in younger players too, which makes up for some of the scoring gap. Lambs are probably winners here, but it is still a fairly even trade in my view.

TRADE #30: APPROVED
Elephants give: Brad McKenzie
Crabs give: N59
Reasoning: McKenzie is a fringe player, but still young has has the ability to score decently, the pick is fair for him.

TRADE #31: APPROVED - Note: Part of Trade #15 in Second Trade Period
Elephants give: N/A
Ales give: N12 + R7
Reasoning: Much fairer trade now with the addition of the rookie pick, much closer to Lewis' real worth.

TRADE #32: APPROVED
Taiwan gives: Cam Ellis-Yolmen + Nat 32
Bangkok gives: Nat 26
Reasoning: Ellis-Yolmen is a highly rated youngster and it is worth trading him for a 2nd round pick upgrade.

TRADE #33: APPROVED
Bears give: N50 + R32
Dongs give: Clinton Young + N61
Reasoning: Young is decent depth and he is about worth Rookie 32 and a slight NAT upgrade.

TRADE #34: APPROVED
Strikers give: Casboult + NAT #65 + R#46
Llammas give: Acres + N#67 + R#19
Reasoning: Casboult had a good season, and showed he can become a good forward in this game, especially if he can fix up his kicking. Acres is a young mid with lots of potential, and it is balanced by the pick upgrade.

TRADE #35: APPROVED - Note: Part of Trade #16 in Second Trade Period
Bears give: N61
Dongs give:
Reasoning: Mitchell has solid scoring potential now that he is no longer being used as the sub every game, and Russell has had his injury troubles, but has shown potential also. Cornes is in all likelihood going into his last year of football, but is also a top scorer, and McGuane isn't worth too much at all.

TRADE #36: APPROVED BY TRADE COMMITTEE
Kathmandu give: Michael Hibberd + NAT Pick 25
Bangkok give: Jeremy McGovern + NAT Pick 13

TRADE #37: APPROVED - Note: Part of Trade #17 in Second Trade Period
Crocs give: R47
Folders give: Nick Dal Santo
Reasoning: Giving up two older premiums for a midfielder in his prime.

TRADE #38: APPROVED - Note: Part of Trade #18 in Second Trade Period
Manila gives: NAT 17
Sri Lanka gives: NAT 14 + NAT 30
Reasoning: Vince is a high scoring, but slightly older midfielder. Jenkins is a solid forward who looks to be improving. Balanced by trade of picks.

TRADE #39: APPROVED - Note: Part of Trade #19 in Second Trade Period
Bears give: R64
Dongs give: R77
Elephants give: N/A
Bears get: R77
Dongs get: R64
Elephants get: N/A
Reasoning: Looking at the averages and positions of these players, as well as some of their injury histories, this trade appears fair enough to all parties concerned.

TRADE #40: APPROVED - Note: Part of Trade #20 in Second Trade Period
UAE Tigers give: Rook 12
Hong Kong Dongs give: Rook 45
Reasoning: Kelly scored around 10 points more per game than Pearce, but he is several years older, and probably going into his last year of football. The pick swap balances it out.

TRADE #41: APPROVED
Tibetan Llamas give: Ty Vickery + John Butcher
Turkey Gazelles Give: Rookie picks #15 + #70
Reasoning: Vickery showed a lot of potential this year, but has had his injury and form troubles. Butcher has really fallen out of favour in the last couple of seasons, and it would be surprising to see him still on an AFL list in 2016. The picks are fair enough for those players.

TRADE #42: APPROVED
Lambs give: N74
Vipers give: Troy Chaplin
Reasoning: Chaplin is an older player who is not a very high scorer, and not worth much.

TRADE #43: APPROVED - Note: Part of Trade #22 in Second Trade Period
Kathmandu gives:
Kathmandu receives: R31 + N66
Taiwan gives: N66
Taiwan receives: N38
KL Crocs give: N38 + R31
KL Crocs receive:
Reasoning: Kathmandu trade two young forwards, one more highly rated in McGovern, for two older, decent scoring players and two decent picks.
Taiwan give up the scoring power of Betts for youth and potential, but a bit of an unknown in terms of future in Honeychurch.
Crocs have to give up a decent player and a couple of picks to get McGovern.
All in all a fairly even trade.

TRADE #44: APPROVED
Folders give: NAT 52
Dongs give: NAT 61 + NAT 62
Reasoning: Easy pick swap to suit both teams' drafting needs.

TRADE #45: APPROVED - Note: Part of Trade #23 in Second Trade Period
UAE Tigers give: Jono O'Rourke, Pick 44
Manila Folders receive: Jono O'Rourke, Pick 44
Reasoning: Trade suits the youth needs for the Folders, with some quality young players, as well as some high scoring power in ?Gibson to replace the lost Goddard.

TRADE #46: APPROVED
Bears give: R16 + R48
Llamas give: Sam Kerridge + Ben Jacobs
Reasoning: Kerridge is a promising young player who looks like who could turn out to be a decent scorer. Jacobs has struggled for game time at North, but also shows a bit of promise. The picks are about even for them.

TRADE #47: APPROVED - Note: Part of Trade #24 in Second Trade Period
Eskimos give: N57
Tigers give: N35
Reasoning: Kelly is a high scorer but near the end of his career, with the probability of gaining DPP. Merrett is a solid young player who will be a good scorer, but is not at his peak yet. The pick swap balances it.

TRADE #1: APPROVED
Manila give: Travis Cloke
UAE give: Brodie Martin
Reasoning: See Trade #4 in first trade period

TRADE #2: APPROVED
Crocs give: Nick Graham
Dolphins give: Joel Patfull
Reasoning: See Trade #6 in first trade period

TRADE #3: APPROVED
KL give: Harry Taylor
Turkey give: Josh Thomas

Ales give: Luke McDonald + Xavier Richards
Crabs give: James Aish + Phil Davis
Reasoning: See Trade #16 in first trade period

TRADE #6: APPROVED
UAE give: Tom Nicholls + Ted Richards
PNG give: Sam Gibson + Jeff Garlett
Reasoning: Nicholls looks like he will become a good fantasy scorer, while Richards is not worth much. Gibson is a good scorer, but old and Garlett is a real unknown moving to a new club.

TRADE #7: APPROVED
Bears give: Ben Griffiths
Dolphins give: Cameron Sutcliffe
Reasoning: See Trade #20 in first trade period

TRADE #8: APPROVED
Bears give: James Gwilt
Llamas give: Jimmy Toumpas
Reasoning: With Gwilt now picked up by the Bombers, this trade can go through. Toumpas is a highly rated youngster, yet only played 4 games this year, and was not a prolific scorer in them. Gwilt is just about a premium defender, which are hard to come by, and he is still only 28.

TRADE #9: APPROVED
UAE Tigers give: Paul Seedsman + Lachie Hunter
PNG Head Hunters give: Andrew Swallow + Danyle Pearce
Reasoning: A young defender and forward with very good scoring potential for this game, Seedsman especially (who faced injury troubles this year and should up his scoring output consdierably next season), are being traded for two older mids, who are nearing the end of their career.

UAE Tigers give: Sam Gibson, Christian Salem, Jake Neade, Jake Lloyd
UAE Tigers receive: Brendon Goddard, Ryan Bastinac, Will Minson, Ted Richards
Manila Folders give: Brendon Goddard, Ryan Bastinac, Will Minson, Jermey Laidler
Manila Folders receive: Sam Gibson, Christian Salem, Jake Neade, Jake Lloyd
PNG HeadHunters give: Ted Richards
PNG HeadHunters receive: Jeremy Laidler
Reasoning: See Trade #45 in first trade period

TRADE #24: APPROVED
Eskimos give: Zach Merrett
Tigers give: James Kelly
Reasoning: See Trade #47 in first trade period

TRADE #25: APPROVED
Bears give: Jack Watts + Jonathon Griffiin
Gazelles give: Ben Cunnington + Andrew Raines
Reasoning: Watts and Griffin are two players who have the ability to score more than their solid performances so far. Cunnington is taking steps to becoming a top mid and Raines balances out the trade a little, a fairly easy one to pass.

TRADE #26: APPROVED
Bears give: Hugh Goddard
Elephants give: Lachie Hansen
Reasoning: Hansen is a solid 80-85 average in this game and doesn't look like moving from there. Goddard is a similar player and will score well playing at both ends of the ground, and is worth more being 9 years younger. A little uneven perhaps, but not enough to block.

TRADE #27: APPROVED
Eskimos give: Tom Curren
Crabs give: Chris Dawes
Reasoning: Curren is a young midfielder with a lot of potential. Dawes scores more, but is older, and doesn't look like he will be improving his output greatly in the future.

TRADE #28: APPROVED
KL Crocs give: Luke Parker + Jeremy McGovern
Vipers give: Dayne Beams + Patrick Karnezis
Reasoning: The Parker to Beams upgrade is offset by the addition of McGovern, who is worth a decent amount. The addition of Karnezis balances it out a bit more. I do not see it as giving the Crocodiles an unfair advantage, especially when there was only a 7 point difference between the two players this year.

TRADE #29: APPROVED
Vipers give: Mitch Wallis
Tigers give: Jeff Garlett
Reasoning: Garlett should get regular games the Demons, and Wallis will continue to get games at the Dogs. Wallis probably has more potential than Garlett, and that offsets his lowers coring output at this stage.

TRADE #30: APPROVED
Crabs give: Jackson Merrett + Daniel Rich
Tigers give: Zach Merrett + Mitch Robinson
Reasoning: Zach Merrett is a youngster with a lot of potential, while Rich is a solid scorer but on the comeback from injury. The trade is evened up by trading Robinson for the younger Jackson Merrett.
