Nige you are clearly suggesting that there is the same group and we are here to cause chaos or something. You were mad when your trade got negged and then when other people get mad you step in and say people like to dog and moan. Stop acting like the good guy every time there is a debate by staying out of it.
Um, did you miss my last post?

I'm trying to be helpful which is more that can be said for others around here.

You were assistant at the Dongs and you're now co-coach of the Dillos which needed a rebuild, you should be able to offer some guidance to nrich or at the very least sympathise.

Well Nige you say the Dongs are trying to rebuild BB say the Dongs are trying to rebuild, Nrich says the Dongs are trying to rebuild why on earth would they bring in 2 27 year olds (one of which aren't even on an AFL list), 1 28 year old, 1 bloke not in the clubs best 22 and 1 average forward.

Thats not rebuilding. That is tanking

So Nige are these memes you post constructive ?

I know I do it also but I'm not the one complaining just think you're being a hypocrite

It's an improvement on a bunch of 30+ year olds that are soon to retire.

If he keeps them for longer, their value will decrease and he'll attract even less interest.

Shaun Burgoyne, a 32 year old with one year left but is still a good scorer, he was traded for what Mav Weller initially? When Burgoyne plays next year and if his average drops, he's then going to be 33 and will have declined right? If he decides he's good to go for another season, he's then 33 with a lesser average than the year before. If I could only fetch a 3rd round pick for somebody of his ability, imagine what his worth would be like next year?

Sure, nrich has downgraded in quality, but he's reducing the average age of his team where he can so he's not running the local museum with fossils on show. If you don't know that older players in XVs carry little currency by now, you need to get with the times.

Confirmed.

Reason: This will likely be Cornes' last season so like Burgoyne, his value is decreased. Mitchell showed his scoring potential this year when not wearing the vest and has been upgraded to the senior list for 2015. Russell is a young D/F who averaged 90 SB unsubbed a couple of years ago, 80ish last year but was in and out of the side this year as he had an injury interrupted pre-season. He's only 22yo so has plenty of time to cement a spot in the near future with his ability to play all over the ground. I'll be delisting McGuane but he is just there to make the trade a 1 for 1 in the second period and the pick evens it out.

This is what I kind of gathered from most of the offers I received for Stevie J and Priddis when I put them on the market.  :-X

Memes? What memes? I haven't posted a single meme.  ???

I don't think I'm being hypocritical. I've told Toga that I'm not a fan of the trade, but I understand the reasons for it on behalf of both teams. I have PM'd him my thoughts on it and what he could do if the trade was rejected. I'm simply stating here in this thread that I only see people voicing disapproval at the trade but nobody seems to want to be constructive and offer a solution.

Ditto with Burgoyne, event though I understand he's not on the same level as the above.

Until I offered one of the best youngsters in this comp  ::)

Rids

Maybe people should wait till BB is on again if the real issue is consistency. He is very approachable on all subjects and if people raise valid and important points everyone can work together to find a better solution.

Ricochet

Lads it's pretty simple. Shop your boys around. ..
Then
a) people can't complain you haven't got the best deal available
and b) your getting the bloody best deal available, so it's to your own benefit

But also on the other side, actually enquire about players... no one is ever completely off the table until you ask.

And there have been no personal attacks so all this talk about trades is healthy for the comp. Better than being dead silent

Vin, if you were coach of the Dongs right now what would you be doing?

I don't like the trades you/nails did but I ain't complaining.
If I were you I'd be looking at getting better deals. I'd be finding players that you like (and are good)on other peoples lists and asking about them. For heavens sake I've stated that I'll move on Merrett, a 19yo who averaged 91 in his first season, and played 20 games. And McGovern, who averages 90 as a forward and is young. Tom Curren is making his way into the St. Kilda side, paying 16 games this season. I have Ebert, Hannebery, Gaff, Isaac Smith, Polec.

From you I received two PM's. One saying you want Lennon, Polec and Pick 9. After I said no to Polec but yes to Pick 9 and Lennon, you didn't reply. I had to PM you again saying I had an offer for Lennon and you needed to beat it if you wanted him. You reply with an offer which had a pick I don't have anymore (Not your fault, that list needs to be updated), I reply saying what you need to beat, but get nothing back from you.

You went for the young player in my team that has done the least so far, there lies your problem. You aren't even getting good youth in return, all you are doing is losing scorers, and trading without thinking. If you actually looked around and searched for offers you'd have done much better.

This bit is weird hahaha And here I was thinking I joined a good comp :(
Should have read up on the past six weeks-ish before you joined.  :P
Where there was one trade that caused an issue? I took it as a once-off.
Cyril Rioli for Mason Wood, Dean Kent and a spud draft pick was one.
McGovern for Hibberd was another
80% of every trade

I bet any money if Rioli was on the market in the AFL for some reason/decided he wanted to leave a first round draft pick (not a spud pick) and another youngster would be more than enough to get the deal done.

I got that and another young key forward who's been looking very handy in the VFL.

I agree with what nrich is doing with the Dongs however, the issue is I don't rate any of the players he's getting in for those older guys.

But, if they are the best available then I guess he can't do much more. Better than them retiring and he gets nothing imo.
