Thoughts on this raised by David Noble this morning on compensation for free agency,

Teams finishing 11 - 18 receive first round compensation picks after Pick 8 with teams finishing 11 - 18 receiving their picks at end of Rd 1.

Noble also confirmed Stef Martin staying and not making plays for Lobbe or Keeffe.

makes total sense to me. as i said its unfair to others teams who move down from say 3 to 4. getting pick 2 is huge and is better then most players in the AFL. there needs to be a little bit of case by case as not all top 5% players are equal.

A club should be compensated but never walk away winners from a free agent leaving your squad.

Don't feel sorry for him the Dee's have been very patient with him think Jack has been a little to laid back for his own good over his career so far, the change might be just what he needs and well done to Port they have had a very good trade period things are looking up for them watch out Crows there could be a new kid in town  :P

Very unlikely, it will force clubs to wrap things up more quickly.

Moot point, the trades stay the same - they're just compacted into a smaller time frame = sense of greater activity

it would probably be like 8 trades in 3 days or 9 trades in 10 days. There is alot of talk in the lead up to trade period anyway. its not like they start talking on day 1.
