Lever said he was in it for the long haul at the Crows last time he re-signed. What a gun.

Wasnt he originally offered like 300k from the crows? Now im sure they will bump it up to like 500k. I thought the dees where like 800k. So over 5 years its like $2.5 million or $4 million.

He gets alot more money and gets to move back to where he is from with his friends and family.

seems a smart move.

I reckon 90% of people would do what he is doing. You graduate from uni you get offered a job in another state for a grad program on 50k a year. After 3 years you do really well and they offer you a full time role at 70k a year.  A recruiter from your home town offers you 150k to move back home (where you would rather have been from the start).

How many people knock that back and then take the 100k where they are.

seems the kid has brains, probably why he is such a good footballer.

The reported offer was bullshower, like most things in the media, I don't know what we did offer him but I'm sure it wasn't 300k at the start.

RaisyDaisy

Apparently the Lever offer from Mebourne is 800-850k per year

That's ridiculous

He's a super player for his age, but that's massive overs

I wonder how most of the other Demons will feel being paid so much less

im sure its less then 800k though.

even if its just 100k that half a million over 5 years.

thats a pretty attractive offer to come home.

The cap went up heaps. 800 is the new 600.

AFL seems to be the only sport where cry babies want to go home instead of "working" for the company that "hired" them.

It seems they are only cry babies when they want to go home to Victoria can't remember Beams being called that when he wanted to go home to be with family ?

Beams went home because his Dad's health is flowered. Not because he was homesick

The only cry babies are the fans making these stupid calls. Not only that but they are often hypocrites too.

Yeah I find it hard to ping players for leaving for money.

You play footy for what, 10-15 years if you're lucky? A lot of players are delisted every year, most players are a few bad injuries away from that. At the end of your career your body is ruined and you may or may not have qualifications from uni, so there's a lot of uncertainty there.

You gotta think smart, if I was playing for the Giants and Freo offered me an extra 200k a year to play for them I would take it in a heartbeat.

Ringo

Hope this rumour has no substance but Brisbane reportedly showing interest in Lobbe.

meow meow

I don't blame Ward for leaving. Griffen on the other hand...

Port might what to hold on to him with the Ryder assault verdict still to come.
