Whats with the Demons whinging, they had been given a priority pick a fews year before that. Pick 1 as well may I add
Plus they tanked

And they're in the middle of the AFL world so should have no problem getting players that are *homesick*m

Why doesn't the AFL just shut us down? They clearly don't want us so why do they keep us afloat?
What else are the AFL meant to do?
Help us maybe?

Brissie's list isn't that bad, Fagan will do good things there imo.

They have a good, deep midfield just need some key position stocks to develop.

Brisbane already have plenty of young talent. A priority pick is not going to help them in the short term. What they could actually use is a blank cheque to sign a new coach and to get him whatever/whoever he needs to get the club going.

We weren't *given* it, our win/loss record automatically earned it. Unoffically tanked for it, I will admit. These are irrelevant points anyway, regarding the current system.

This priority pick system has clearly been inconsistently applied, which leads itself to being accused of AFL bias.

QuoteTheir application for a priority pick last season was rejected, but the AFL Commission determined they had met the requirements outlined under the wording of the AFL Rule 19.2 (Special Assistance), when considering the club's current age and list profile, and recent player movement in and out of the club.

I don't remember who said it, but aren't Brisbane ranked number 1 for player retention in the past 3 years?

Did they not get Beams, Christensen and Bell to the club?

Is their age profile SO dissimilar to Melbourne's 2013 list?

In the end, I'm glad the assistance we got was a financial bail-out and Peter Jackson, both of which spearheaded the recruitment of Paul Roos, which spearheaded the recruitment of quality assistant coaches.

I'm just filthy at the inconsistent application of the priority pick system. Simply, it's not fair.

D) None of the above

Don't reward mediocrity, clubs will work it out.

Need more data ^^

But on that alone, Teams' 2 & 3 should have the biggest claim. Team 1 has probably had a couple of good years

Ringo

Do not agree with priority pick personally but will take it.
Been on the road all day today and catching .up. Has not been mentioned previoously, brisbane reportedly chasing Luke Breust. Could be athree way trade with suns involving O'Meara , Hanley, and Breust,

This is true. All three teams needed a financial bail out more then the pick.

2007 will be 10 years away next year. Clutching a bit

GoLions

2010-2016 for us is almost as bad as Melbourne though. And Voss basically bringing in "top-up" like players probably makes things look a bit better than what it was.

FWIW I don't think we should have gotten a priority pick, also think we need money more than anything.

kilbluff1985

Hanley to GC
JOM to Hawks
Breust to Brisbane

pretty close to even?

Hopefully Gold Coast don't give away all their early picks, I was hoping to see a GWS style breakout in a few years.
So TANK as long as you can get away with whilst the AFL has their head up your arse?
