I've been watching his SANFL highlights. Hopefully he can play on the opposite wing from Polec and regain his U18's form. Really excited by him because if Hinkley can untap Westhoff, Polec, Hartlett, Gray, White, Jonas, Lobbe, Broadbent, Pittard etc. I have no doubts he will untap Toumpas' potential

Hearing Nathan Freeman to @stkildafc is done. Freeman & pick 68 to St Kilda and @CollingwoodFC gets second round pick 2016 and pick 63 2015

That will be a big loss for the Pies in the long run and a great win for the Saints.   Freeman can play and will be a beast once the body is right.

Swans were involved, A swans player went to Essendon, out of respect to him not naming him but same family as a Swan kind of

Gets rid of a kid who has shown little at AFL level and has had a shocking run with injuries for a young midfielder with a great ceiling (kicked 6 against North and has carved the SANFL this season) and a top 30 draft pick (which in case you haven't noticed is important for a rebuilding side).

Kerridge will never kick 6 again. That was one out the box

The Menzel boys are made of paper, but have the skills when fit. Still very young so I still stand by my comment.

Maybe, but thats because he's a midfielder. Anyway, its a hell of a lot more than Menzel has shown at AFL level to this point.

Possibly, but the point is, given Carlton's position, they can't rely so heavily on a player who has talent with such a horrific run with injuries. St Kilda did this over the last couple of years, they racked up picks in the top 20 and got 6-8 good young players (McCartin, Goddard, McKenzie, Lonie, Billings, Dunstan, Acres) and they were more than happy to trade established players for these - McEvoy, Stanley, etc.

Fact is, Carlton are in a rebuild so its 100% about loading up on young kids and cashing in where possible. If Menzel has another year like this year then he's cooked in terms of trade value.

The Betts thing is completely different. Adelaide offered him mental money (think its around 700k a season) and the Blues weren't prepared to offer anything around that figure so Eddie walked to the Crows.

All about spreading the load and in the process eliminating the risk.
