OUT-OF-CONTRACT Essendon midfielder Jake Melksham is weighing up his future at the club after struggling to reach top form this year.

AFL.com.au understands the 24-year-old has been recently offered a new two-year deal by the Bombers through to the end of 2017, but is believed to be considering a fresh start elsewhere.

Only because he was being played out of position, I guess it'll come down to the clubs want.

He is a guaranteed All Australian defender.

Agree - North's Pick 11 would be more likely, or otherwise Pick 23 + a player from the Saints.

I'm hoping on Saints to send Pick 6 to GC for Aaron Hall + 20 (Whatever that compo is), and than that Compo pick to Essendon for Carlilse.

Making it Pick 6 for Jake Carlilse + Aaron Hall. Seems fair.

a bit of both, heard whispers but nothing concrete atm. He is apparently keen to come. I hope we get the deal done because I rate him.
