personally do not think it is that bad of a move
and gwilt may flourish  if not needing to be #1 or #2
defender
Yeah he's actually not that bad. Just at the Saints he's been their number 1 or 2 defender.
At the Bombers he'll be their number 3-4 defender*

*If they don't receive bans  :P

I lol'd ::) ::)

7 News are reporting that Brisbane will turn their attention to offering pick 5 for Patrick Ryder with Collingwood 'apparently' closing negotiations on the Beams deal.

And why is that? Ryder would be of more use to us than Beams would, providing we use him as a key forward

Grazz

Beams is one of the best mids in the comp and is also deadly when up forward.  Ryder is a very good forward/ruck but far from elite.  He is the sort of player who is great for a couple of games then goes completely missing for a few.
I find it funny that Brizzy had a shot at an elite mid and let it slip. Will be interesting to see where Beams ends up as I doubt he will ever don the Black & White again.
Yes im a Pies supporter  ;D

Vinny

Ryder is elite in his position.

Nails

Brisbane offered a fair deal for him. Not their fault Collingwood are stupid and wanted incredible overs.

I don't think you understand what I said. Let's say you have a midfield of Ablett, Pendlebury, Selwood, Fyfe, JPK, and Rockliff. Your forward line consists of a bunch of 18-20 year olds who have all played a handful of games. All of a sudden, Beams wants to come to your club, but so does Ryder. Who would you rather have?

Agreed.

All of this is from "AFL Draft, Trade, Free Agency, List and General News" on Facebook

Via Twitter "@SamLandsberger: GWS def Sam Frost could join Melbourne in pre-season draft. Frost - to help cover Frawley - for nothing and pick 3 would be a big Dees win."

Allen Christensen has today passed a medical screening with the Brisbane Lions. He will join the club on Monday morning, as Geelong and Brisbane agree to receive and trade respectively pick 21.

Brisbane have reportedly ceased interest in Carlton's Mitch Robinson.

The AFL have revealed that Collingwood and Brisbane will play each other in Round 1, 2015.

Jack Crisp could be the circuit breaker to help the Lions secure Dayne Beams reports The Age.

Crisp has told Brisbane officials he would be happy to move back to Victoria if a trade can be brokered, otherwise he would accept a new two-year deal the Lions have tabled for him.

Crisp has attracted interest not form Collingwood, but from Essendon who are keen to secure his services. The Bulldogs have also shown interest.

A trade between the Lions and Bombers, likely for a draft selection, would allow the Lions to re-enter a complex five-club trade they had initially declined to get the deal processed.

It would involve the following:

GEELONG: In - Mitch Clark, pick 21 Out - Travis Varcoe, Allen Christensen
COLLINGWOOD: In - Levi Greenwood, Travis Varcoe, Pick 5, Out - Dayne Beams, Heritier Lumumba
NORTH MELBOURNE: In - Pick 25, Out - Levi Greenwood
MELBOURNE: In - Heritier Lumumba, Out - Mitch Clark
BRISBANE: In - Dayne Beams, Out - Pick 5, 25

Let's see how much of it is true.
