Howlett has signed a new two-year deal. Guess he's off the trade table...

Well Hird is staying then it seems!

If anyone is interested someone has created a petition to the AFL regarding the absurd ruling against the Swans today.

Whoever made this petition surely can't be serious? Claiming that the way you have been treated is unfair?

You guys have been giving a generous living allowance to help accommodate for an expensive life in sydney but instead you buy a premiership with it?

What do you mean "instead"?

Each player was paid 9.8% more, there's nothing else to it. That's not "buying a premiership".

The ruling against the Swans is a joke, I don't understand how you can place a ruling that a team can not gain a player via trade or free agency when they have not broken any rules.

kilbluff1985

yeah so if a player requests a trade what happens?

They can't come to Sydney. That's (possibly) why Patful is headed to GWS.

Mat0369

Sydney can trade for picks. So they can trade a player out, but only receive draft picks in return

i mean what if a Sydney player requests a trade

if one has family concerns and they want to go home but cant i think players association should get involved

Well, by  my understanding, if a player is traded into Sydney for the next two years, then Sydney forfeits COLA immediately, putting their cap in serious danger.

Its two years because they are currently in the process of phasing COLA out, and will be free of it in the 2017 season.

Interesting stance by the AFL.

Mr.Craig

Might have to loan Buddy out for a few games a year.

I love this ruling. Sydney are cheating cows  and this ruling is delightful :)
